On the way home, Leavetty spotted a poster. Tugging Yellow towards it, she pointed at it.

"Quiz show...ten thousand pokedollars reward...anyone can join? Leavetty, do you want me to join? But I'm not really that smart..."

Leavetty commenced in frantic gesturing that could only mean ' I could help you. It'll help Green for sure! '

"Okay, but let me think about it."

Back home, her pokemon crowded around her.

"Oh, you have got to be real."

"Come on, you're helping your friend!"

"Consider it!  Green's always so sweet to you."

"You can't say no to helping your friend!"

"You have to at least try!"

"Say something! We await your verdict."

Yellow looked at her expectant pokemon. "All right," She said. "But how exactly are you going to help me?

Amid Leavetty's frantic gestures, Yellow could identify the main idea.

"The competition allows…one pokemon…to join the what? Oh, trainer, on stage. I…oh you mean you, yourself, can…use gesturing to let you…oh you mean me…know the answer. You just…oh, I just have to…specify…that I…oh it's you, yourself…are mute. Oh, okay."

After Yellow could grasp the main idea, she grabbed a bag. "Come on, we're going to register."

Leavetty shook its head. Pulling Yellow in front of a mirror, she gestured," don't let them recognize you."

Leavetty then somehow changed Yellow's entire appearance. Her long blonde hair turned pink and got bunched up into a bun. Her normal clothes changed into a t-shirt and a skirt that reached to the knees, with long socks that led Yellow's eyes to a pair of shiny leather shoes. Speaking of eyes, they were now a shade of lavender, soft and gentle. Yellow gaped at her different self.

Chuchu ran up to her. "Leavetty says your name is now Lavender Macmillan. Boy, you'll win for sure if the judges are male."

"Thanks a lot, Chuchu."

~time skip to the enrolment venue~

"Name, Lavender Macmillan. Age…" Yellow trailed off.

"Leavetty, what's my fake age again?" Yellow muttered to her trusty sidekick.

Leavetty gestured, "fifteen."

"Thanks"

After a while, Yellow muttered to Leavetty again. "Bank account. I don't have one. Leavetty!"

Leavetty was prepared. Taking the pen from her, she jotted down a bank account which Yellow didn't recognize. Finished with registration, she headed to the quiz show venue on foot.

When she arrived, a young man was standing at the entrance. When she told him that she was in the competition, he checked a clipboard he had seemingly produced out of nowhere and let her in.

(I'll skip the details of the quiz show, hope you don't mind)

Yellow sighed, relieved. She had won with her own basic knowledge and the help of Leavetty. Some questions really had her sweating though. Name two types effective on a Lapras? Yellow had answered electric and fighting, thank goodness she was correct. Name a legendary pokemon that's not a dual type that's doubly effective on a moltres? Leavetty had to literally spell regirock for her, but she managed. The questions weren't easy, but she got into the finals and won nonetheless.

On the way home, she spotted a poster about a competition with money to win. The professor's medical bills probably had much left unpaid. A little more money wouldn't hurt, right?

Over the next few weeks, she dug as deep as she could to find methods to earn money. She battled, competed, earned expensive items from competitions and sold them, but she never stole. The forest pokemon saw her work and searched for dropped money anyone might've left in the forest. In the course of barely a month, she earned and earned pokedollar until one day she had an interesting conversation with Leavetty.

"Leavetty, do you know how much money I've earnt?"

"Seven million, give or take a few pokedollars," Leavetty gestured.

"Seven million! It's a lot. How do I retrieve the money I earn from the bank account I've put it in to give to Green if I don't know the password?"

"You don't need to. The bank account you've been using is Green's."

"Oh dear, if only I'd known earlier. I might as well go over to his place and tell him, I can't stand him not knowing! It feels like something Blue would do, too. Somehow. I hope he doesn't think so. Wait a second. How did you know Green's bank account username when I'm sure he never told us?"

Leavetty only smiled mysteriously.

Sighing, Yellow muttered, " I wish you'd be more direct sometimes."

Picking up her bag, she said to her pokemon, "I'm off to Green's. Are you coming?"

All her pokemon nodded vigorously.

~At the Viridian City Gym~

Yellow knocked softly on the gym's double doors. Green answered, a smile on his face.

"Yellow, a miracle has happened. One time I was checking my bank account, I found over seven million dollars in it. I'm not poor now, and grandfather's medical bills and equipment restoration can be paid for. What luck!"

Yellow smiled, then gulped. " Uh, Green? I earned the money you have in your bank account. I don't want it, but I earned it fair and square. Please keep it."

Green stared at her, then hugged her with surprising gentleness. " Thank you, Yellow. You're the best friend one could ever ask for."

Yellow smiled so wide she thought her face was going to fall off.
