Chapter 9

Adriana's POV:

They just stared and got up and walked to the car I followed and we drove to the hospital in silence. I felt so numb even Alessandro of all people thought I was a monster.

At the hospital they said I sprained my hand but it would heal in a week or two. They wrapped it and we went home.

On the drive I decided to break the silence "I understand if you don't want me anymore. I'm a monster and a danger to your family." I frowned

"I just wanna say thank you for taking me in and I'll move out by tomorrow." I could just go back to Russia if anything.

Suddenly dad hit the breaks hard and turned to me.

"Don't you ever say that again. You are not a monster you're a survivor! You did what it took to live. I'm beyond proud of you and I'm happy that you're safe." I was speechless

"He's right piccoletto you were so brave and you did what no other child could've done. You also have a heart of gold I don't care how many people you killed, beat, or even tortured you still did everything to protect you mom and Avalanche. Now please stop crying and I'll buy you ice cream." I giggled at Zio and he patted my head

The both laughed and dad started driving to an ice cream shop. Dad didn't get anything Zio got vanilla and I got chocolate chip cookie dough with mini M&M as a topping. This was the first time Ive gotten ice cream in two years.

Afterwards we went home. Alessandro's reaction and Lorenzo's kindness made me genuinely smile. The drive home wasn't gloomy or quiet at all. I could feel how much they truly loved me and part of me was beginning to care for them too.

Before we went inside I asked

"Can you guys tell everyone else I want them to know but I don't have it in me to retell it." they both nodded and I went inside to take a nap.

Alessandro's POV

After she went to bed I called Charlotte and all the boys down except Alessio.

"Today Adriana told Lorenzo and I her past. She told us to tell you on her behalf because it's too difficult for her."

"Now save your tantrums and comments for the end because we wanna get through this." Lorenzo added and they rolled their eyes.

I told them everything not sparing a single detail. Charlotte was crying and the boys were furious.

"Those sons of bitches im gonna tear their empire to the ground starting with Volkov for dragging our poor sister into that lifestyle." Vincenzo barked while clenching his fists

"Are we gonna tell her about the family business?" Xavier asked

"Of course not she's just a child." Ace said

"A child who trained and worked for the Russian mafia. We won't get her involve but she deserves to know the truth." Xander spat

"I'd hate to agree with Xander on anything but he's right. The reason we didn't tell her is cause we didn't think she could handle the truth, but it clear that she's a Lombardi through and through." Matteo reasoned and Xander flipped him off

"But we still have to keep in mind that she left the mafia for a good reason so we don't know how she'll react learning that not only are we part of the Italian mafia but her father is the leader." Charlotte said

Our conversation was cut short but a small voice

"You're the leader of the Italian Mafia?"
