Chapter 39

Adriana's POV:

It's 4:00 I'm dressed in my football uniform and I'm in the guys locker room listening to coach give his pep talk.

I'm so nervous cause this is different from a middle school football game. The players are much stronger and tougher than middle schoolers. They're way older than me which makes me even more nervous. I guess Xander notices and comes over to me.

"Calm down AJ you're gonna do amazing. Just remember what we practiced, use your head, and communicate with me and we've got this in the bag." I'm instantly at ease. I didn't realize Xander could be so nice

"Thanks I needed that." he smiles at me

"Okay ladies it's go time lets send them home in shame. Hands in the middle! Vikings on three!

Then we run out. The bleachers are packed for the game of the season. I spot posters with mine and the boys numbers on it.

We get on our side and Xander hikes the ball to them. We all run forward and I see the guy who catches the ball and I sprint towards him. He dodges Jackson and I tackle him on the 40 yard line. I get up and Dante gives me a high five. We line up again and continue the game.

There's 4 minutes left in the game and we're on defense the score is 27-24 we're down the other team has the ball. Xander comes over to me

"Stay close to 19 based on the plays they've been making they'll give it to him if he's lightly guarded." he whispers to me and I nod

He hikes the ball and I stay near 19 not directly on him and as predicted the ball is thrown to him. I run and jump as high as I can and catch the ball. I sprint to their end zone, Xander blocks their quarter back and Luca and Marco block their safeties. I successfully make it to their end zone and the crowd goes wild.

Just kidding one of their safeties make it past Marco and tackles me hard on the 20 yard line. My helmet flies off and I lay there to recover. Xavier and Xander run to my side and ask me if I'm okay.

"I'm straight." I answer with a smile and they laugh

"8 in for 11!" coach yells and I walk off

"I feel fine. Why'd you sub me out?" I ask

"Because you did your part now we wait for Mark to do his." I nod

The ball is hiked to Xander and he bends down and places the ball. Mark kicks it and scores a field goal. The crowd goes wild now we're tied which means we get a 10 minute over time.

"See now you go back in and score" coach says and puts me back in

It's our ball 3rd down and we're on the 50 yard line. We huddle up

"Okay so obviously we're going for a hail marry but I want everyone to run right and stay there spread out and expect the ball." Xander says

"Everyone except X2 you're gonna run right then cut across and run full speed left so X1 can pass it to you." Dante says

"Fuck off Dante!" me and Xander yelled at the same time which didn't help our case

We broke out to our position and the ball was hiked to Xander. We all followed the plan and everyone went right except for me. I turned and sprinted as fast as I could Xander threw the ball fast to the left but it was too high so I jumped up and tipped the ball up. When I landed the ball spun and fell straight down into my hands.

I scored I threw the ball and my helmet then did a backflip. The crowd went wild and the team came running to me. Xander hoisted me up onto his shoulders and everyone chanted

"AJ"

Now I know we're celebrating a lot for a normal game but we just beat our rivals so it's a good day. Yearbook came and took a picture of the team carrying me and another of Maddie kissing my cheek. We went into the guys locker room for a debrief, then coach left when he was done.

All the guys immediately stripped like I wasn't there. They were all in their underwear even my brothers and cousins but that wasn't new. In middle school the guys weren't as built or hot

"Uhm guys can you not get completely naked" I said blushing

"Awww what's wrong X2 aren't you enjoying the view?" Dylan said flexing which made me even redder

Xander covered my eyes

"Fuck off Dylan!" everyone laughed

"Stop teasing X2 before X1 kicks your ass." Jared our Line backer said

"Stop calling us that!" we both barked

"No, you guys make better twins than us." Xavier joked

"Okay party at my place everyone's invited minus Adriana!" Jackson said

"I wasn't going to go anyways cunt."

"Why do you have to leave on an angry note?" Luca sighed

"I'll never get to do this after today." Jackson said laughing

I looked at them confused

"I'm moving today." my face lit up

"Really that's fucking amazing do you need a ride to the airport or help packing?"

Xander smacked me in the back of the head

"Ow!" I said rubbing my head

"Be the bigger person."

"Fine, I wish you well on whatever you do Jackson." then I went to changed

I saw Maddie and the other cheerleaders in the locker room and they all came and hugged me

"You were amazing!" Ally said she's a senior on the team

"Thanks!"

"Are you ready to party?" I shook my head

"Why?" all the girls yelled

"It's at Jackson house and he said I'm not invited."

"Why does he hate you?" Samantha asked

"I don't even know it's fine. My brothers wouldn't let me anyways." I said

"No fuck that he bullies you and now you can't celebrate your win! You're going and that's final." Maddie said

"Yeah!" the girls yelled

"We can all get ready at my place then."

"Definitely address now." I laughed and gave it to them then went outside

"Good job Jasmin." dad hugged me tight and I left my arms at my side

"Thanks, so Alek the cheer squad wants come over and get ready for the party:"

"Sure but you're not going." he said sternly

"That's fine Jackson said everyone is invited but me and I have an early day tomorrow." I said disappointed

"I'll ride with Ally and Maddie see you at home." they all waved and said bye
