Fred acted surprised when his mother informed him that he was visiting Catina when really he so wanted to smirk and strut out of the house proudly that he had gotten what he wanted. Remus took him to his father's house and watched joyfully as Catina's eyes widened at the sight of Fred. Except instead of running and jumping into his arms, she sprinted back up the stairs and slammed the bedroom door shut.

"Well that wasn't quite the reaction I was expecting."

"We didn't tell her you were coming, go on son, first door on the left." Said Lyall with a smile, Fred took to the stairs two steps at a time and once his back was turned Lyall turned to his son. "She is pleased to see him, right?"

"Honestly, dad, I have no clue. She is probably worried Molly will storm in here and hex her into oblivion!"

Fred, deciding to not change his habit, pushed open the door without knocking and found Catina face down on the bed. Around him on the walls were hundreds of pictures of young Remus, Sirius, James Potter and some chubby blonde kid he didn't know the name of. There were even some of Lily Potter too. He surmised this used to be Remus' bedroom.

He sat on the edge of the bed and placed a hand on Catina's back where, through her thin t-shirt, he could feel her scars running down her skin like tree branches. "It's nice to see you too, Kitten."

Catina slowly lifted her head, looking over her shoulder and up at Fred with large eyes. "You're mother will kill you if she finds you anywhere near me."

"Actually, she won't she gave me permission to come here and for you to return back to Grimmauld Place in the summer... Well, in actual fact, Sirius decided to yell at my mother something she needed to hear and uh, threatened to kick her out if you didn't come back. Mum said about you coming back last night but it was then agreed to let you settle here before returning to school and come back to Grimmauld place in the summer and I-"

Catina sat up, placing her hand over Fred's mouth, "you're rambling, darling," she said. Relief flooded her veins at the thought of being able to go back but guilt also came flowing afterwards. She rather liked the comfort of the Lupin household and how quiet it was with only her Lyall and Remus, it was tranquil and calm, not at all hectic. It allowed her to breathe and not be in someone else's personal space when doing so, it allowed her to be at one with her thoughts and for her to roam the house without fear of crashing into someone. She rather preferred it here.

Fred could practically see and hear the cogs turning in her mind as she st with her bottom lip between her teeth and her eyes not meeting his. He could already guess what she was going to say. "You don't want to come back, do you?"

"It's not that I don't want to come back, it is just, this feels like a proper home, that house just doesn't sit right with me."

"It doesn't sit right with anyone!"

"You don't get it, darling-"

"No, I do. You just don't want to come back. You never wanted to be there, you made that point enough times when you ran away. I gave you so much and tried to keep you there and you still tried to run! It all makes sense now, why you didn't put up a fight to stay and you just left like that. Your problem isn't the fact you don't have a family or that George doesn't like you or that my mother is a bit rash to you, it's that if you don't like something you won't suck it up, like every other Slytherin, you'll spit your dummy out of the pram until you get what you want! It's probably why you don't have any family, nobody is good enough for your high standards. I'm a mug to you, aren't I? I mould to any shape or for you want, I do anything you want me to, I even fought with my own twin brother because of you. Well, I am done being your little piece of clay. I was the only one you could entice to do that, to control, wasn't I? I should have known the second you kissed me that night in the dining room. Well I am done with you, Catina, send me a letter when you grow up."

"Fred, what on earth are talking about? None of that is true!"

"For once in your life, shut up, Lennox, nobody wants you, nobody will ever want a priss like you, I was a fool to ever think I wanted you."

Catina had heard similar words to those her whole life and she had learnt to ignore them but coming from Fred hurt her like nothing had ever done so in the past. It was like a razor had split her chest open and punctured her heart to the point where if she had not have been sat on the bed, she would have stumbled backwards it was that powerful.

She did as she was told, she kept her mouth shut, locked with a padlock and the key thrown away. She stared as Fred stormed out of the bedroom slamming the door and a loud crack followed suit. He was gone. Even though he promised her that he would never leave.

"It's always the same! Someone claims they care about me then they leave. I bet you when we get back to school you won't want to know me."

Fred tugged at his hair, "You're literally talking out of your arse, Cat. I've just told you that I bloody like you and you're trying to tell me I don't. Whoever hurt you before didn't deserve you. I don't want to hurt you. I want to be with you."

"Why?"

"I've just bloody told you!"

"What about George?"

"Don't worry about him."

"You're family?"

"Again, don't worry about them."

"Your friends?"

"Stuff them."

"Fred I... I don't know."

"Kitten, I just want you to be happy."

"So you've already said," she muttered rolling her eyes. Fred reached out to her and pulled her towards him.

"I don't need to know everything about you. If that is what is worrying you. You tell me as much as you want, I won't leave either way." Fred said staring into her eyes.

"Lupin said that."

"I promise I won't leave. I'll promise you that a thousand times if I have too. Just please be mine?"

Catina nodded her head and collapsed into his arms. Her walls were breaking down, a few were still standing but had prominent cracks in them. The outer ones were fully demolished and were a pile of rubble at her feet, Fred standing on top of it all. She was no longer the bold and brave Catina Lennox. Instead, she was a small little kitten in the arms of Fred Weasley, her boyfriend.
