This is a bad idea. A very bad idea and I also think that this is becoming a habit.

Roaming around the mansion in midnight.

My sleep deprivation state is taking the best of me and my appetite is getting lower and weirder. I don't feel like eating during my breaks, but I get hungry at midnight. Rylie is obviously concerned about me. She was surprised to see me back sooner than she had imagined when I purposely asked permission to run away.

Hell, I didn't actually ask the capo's permission because I was busy ogling his body. Naughty Amy! Bad manners!

I rubbed my arms and sighed loudly as I tiptoed my way to the kitchen.

When I finally reached the kitchen, I flicked the switch on and raised a perfect eyebrow when I saw a very familiar man sitting on the counter, cross-legged, his face covered in a face mask and wearing his usual SpongeBob pajamas.

As expected, Adrian was licking ice cream and he grinned like a fool when he saw me.

"Amy, is your roommate sick again?"

I chuckled. "No, waxing. She is not sick. I'm just hungry."

He raised a skeptical eyebrow. "Midnight snack craving?"

"No." I mumbled. "I didn't have my lunch and dinner."

Adrian groaned and took a huge lick of his ice cream from the spoon. "You should take care of yourself. I told you, we don't want sick staff."

"I know." I deadpanned. "That's why I am here. I'm hungry."

"You know what to do." He cocked his head towards the refrigerator and smirked.

I rolled my eyes and took out a huge bowl of pasta, heated it in the oven then sat beside Adrian, cross-legged and started eating it.

"So...what's up?"

"What are we doing here? Bonding?"

He laughed. "No, not really. But I don't mind doing that too. I'm different."

I took a spoonful of the pasta. "I don't think so. You are ignoring the time when you held me at gunpoint."

"Safety measures. Every man here does that." He said nonchalantly.

"Don't care." I deadpanned. "You guys are dangerous. Waking up here was a mistake."

"Waking up?" He asked curiously.

I sighed in exhaustion. "Long story short, I got kidnapped on my way to a friend's place for a sleepover and directly woke up here."

"Oohh, that's tough. That's why you are so adamant on going back to your famiglia!"

"Yes, and I will go back to them."

"As if the capo will allow you." He mocked.

I frowned and started playing with the pasta when I remembered something. "Hey Adrian, what is your relation with the capo? You seem a bit...easy talking about him."

He licked his ice cream. "It's nothing. We are fratelli, brothers as you say."

"What?" I blurted in shock. "I thought there was only one son."

He pointed the spoon in his direction. "Adopted elder brother here. Padre saw that his little son was bored to death while he was handling everything so he picked me up from the orphanage. That was probably the best day of my life."

I nodded my head in understanding. "What about the mother?" I asked warily.

He froze like his frozen ice cream then cleared his throat. "Don't get too curious. Some things are better left unasked."
