Taehyung flinched, covering his eyes from the sunlight peeking through the window. Yawning and tossing, he rolled around in his sheets. Only opening his eyes slightly to check the time, but his head felt dizzy when heaving it. So he quickly sunk back on his pillow, pulling the covers over him.
A single memory from the previous night coming back to his mind though, making his eyes shoot open. Him sitting up straight abruptly.

Cassandra was gone.

The only evidence of her having been there his knit shirt and the silver book at the end of the bed. And the feeling of her touch lingering on his hand like a ghost.
He was lame. He was so lame. Holding his favourite shirt in his hands. The one he had given to her and the one she had returned yesterday. It didn't smell like him anymore. It smelled like her.
He took the pills Namjoon had left for him, even though Taehyung couldn't remember anything and wasn't sure who had left them there. However, the headache remained.
He wasn't going to leave the bed. Not today. Not with a hangover and a messed up heart. He knew they were stupid excuses, but he had also overslept again and that was enough to stop him from doing anything. Well, almost.

He needed to eat something, his stomach grumbling. So he forced himself to eventually stay up after all and going upstairs. Seeing Yoongi at the kitchen counter, munching on an apple. He looked up when Taehyung entered, arching a brow at him. "You slept in again," he plainly stated.
Taehyung just nodded, running his fingers through his messy hair. He opened the fridge then in hopes of finding something edible. "I don't wanna snoop around," Yoongi said then, having finished his apple, "But why did Cassandra sleep here?"
The younger boy almost dropped the bottle of juice in his hands. Confused, he looked at Yoongi and shook his head. "S-she didn't sleep here."
He hummed. "And why did I see her leaving the house when I woke up in the morning?"
Taehyung's eyes widened. "W-wait what? What time?"
He thought for a moment. "Around 8 o'clock maybe?" So she hadn't only stayed till he had fallen asleep but actually the whole night?  "So?" Yoongi spoke up again with a grin, interrupting his train of thoughts, "Why did she sleep here? And when did she even come? I didn't notice her."
"She brought back Taehyungie who drunkenly showed up at her house in the middle of the night," Jin barked in then, having overheard their conversation. He came into the kitchen with a similar wide grin to Yoongi's.
"How do yo-"
"Namjoon told me. He helped her getting the drunk baby to bed." Jin shook his head then, sighing dramatically, "Ah, what were you thinking? So embarrassing. Poor girl."
"Oh, so that's what she was doing here. But why did she stay all night?" Yoongi thought out loud then. Both shooting a questioning look at Taehyung, who just groaned.
"I didn't even know she stayed here, okay? I was drunk. I only remember asking her.." He pursed his lips, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.
"Asking her what?"
"I.. asked her to hold my hand till I fall asleep," he mumbled.
The two older guys exchanged a look, before simultaneously cooing teasingly at him. Making him groan louder. He quickly left the room then, ignoring their protests to come back. Instead he went straight up to his room. Slamming the door shut, he let himself fall onto his soft bed covers.

Cassandra had actually spent the whole night there. Had she slept in his bed? Beside him? He let out another groan out of frustration. She had been so close and he hadn't even noticed.

He had to think of a way to fix things. He had to tell her that he had been wrong. He had to tell her that everything had been a huge mistake and that he missed her. He had to tell her that he loved her, that she wasn't just a friend.
And also, he had to avoid getting drunk before telling her. Last night had been a complete mess. Not that he remembered a lot, but he did remember blurting out everything that had come to his mind. If he hadn't been drained, he would have probably tried to kiss her mouth off of her face. Thinking about it was embarrassing, but that didn't worry him. He was rather upset  than anything. He hadn't been expecting her to stay. In fact he had expected her to slam the door on his face, when he had walked to her front porch. But she hadn't. She hadn't because she got a big heart and for some reason, still seemed to care for him. At least enough to bring him home instead and even hold his hand till he had fallen asleep.
However, she had left both, the shirt and the book there. The worst way she could find to say goodbye to him.

He wasn't giving up though. Not over a dumb mistake of his. If he opened up to her and she told him to leave her alone, fine. So be it. But he couldn't accept losing her before talking things out first.
He would walk up to her door as many times as needed. He would go to the art department and look for her on every exams day. He would beg her to get in his car. He would do anything. He felt like having to do something immediately. So after thinking it through, Taehyung gathered enough courage to walk to her house that evening. Ready to sit down and explain everything to her. But much to his surprise, he found all her window blinds being let down.

He rang the doorbell.
Nothing.
He rang again.
Still no answer.
He called out for her.
She wouldn't appear.
He took out his phone then, dialing her number.
No signal.
He walked around the house, trying to see if he could find a sign of her there. Nothing.
-Where was she? Exam period started tomorrow and it was already quite late. Concerns and worry started filling his mind. He heaved a sigh and looked up at the sky coloured by the setting sun. Hoping she was alright. There wasn't much more he could do though, so he went back home disappointed. Deciding to try again tomorrow, her hopefully being back by then.

That night Taehyung fell asleep with his arm hanging out of the bed. Just in case she decided to appear and hold his hand again.
