Conlan's P.O.V

Everything is set up just like I imagined it: dozens of white table's with loved ones in every seat. The organization is traditional, with all the girls on the right side of our backyard facing the stage and boys on the left. Once were officially announced as Alpha and Luna, then everybody will merge and celebrate, while howling for joy to the moon. It just so happens to be a full moon tonight. What are the odds?

"Is it just me, or is my dad purposefully talking too much?" I ask Dakota. I've been anxious all night long. I feel like this waiting is endless.

"...even as a child, I knew he would be an amazing leader..." blah, blah, blah. Just get on with it old man, I don't have all night. To be honest, I wasn't listening to anything he was saying. I just keep thinking I really hope they accept her.

Amanda's P.O.V

I look around, feeling bubbly and happy. Everyone looks so nice and it's such a beautiful night tonight. To my right, Mable and Aimee are sitting next to each other, but to my left there's an empty seat. I wonder who sits here? My quuestion was almost answered immediatly when Mara walked up to our table and sat down in that very seat.

"Hey Amanda," Mara cheerily greeted me. Well at least she's being nice. "Are you nerveous?"

"Nerveous?" What's there to be nerveous about. I don't have terrible stage fright, so I think I'll be fine.

"Oh, no one told you?" she looked like she was suprised.

"No one told me what?"

"Don't you dare," Mable warned. I looked over my shoulder to find her glaring daggers at Mara. What's going on? Mara opened her mouth to speak, but was interupted by Aimee before she could.

"If you tell her that will be the last thing you ever say," she threatened. Mara smirks.

"Unlike your 'friends', I won't be dishonest with you," she starts. "The pack has the choice to reject you like a mate could and if that happened, the alpha can either choice a new Luna or become rogue,"

"Oh," was all I could say. Now I know why she thought I would be nervous. I'm sweating buckets.

"Yea, and no Alpha has ever chosen going rogue in recorded history," she added.

"That's it," Aimee whisper yelled since there was still a ceromony going on. She was about to lunge for Mara, but I grabbed her arm before she could.

"Don't," she still glared at her.

"I want her out of my sight," Aimee growled.

"I was leaving anyways," she quickly got up with a smirk prominent on her face and left.

Mable and Aimee looked at me hesitenly.

"I'm fine," I told them. And I was...sort of.

As hard as I did try, my mind kept showing me the worst case scenarios. What if Conlan gives up his Alpha position for me and he regrets that decision for the rest of his life. What if he rejects me and chooses someone else to be the packs Luna. What if he chooses Mara. That would make sense. She's really pretty, I bet the pack would love her.

I kept thinking and even though my eyes were open, staring at the stage, I felt like I wasn't really seeing anything. Like everything was a blob of thoughts and emotions instead of people, chairs, and the night surrounding us.

"Amanda," Mable whispered in my ear. I shook my head out of my thoughts and turned to look at her.

"Huh?" She smirked at me.
