Here we have prototype reader. I scrapped this because I thought it was too much. That and gems have no visible ears- (of course, if you like it, feel free to imagine her as such.~) ~~~~~~~~~~
Now Q&A!
Q: why does reader have 6 limbs? A: I thought it'd be cool and different. And handy. :3
Q: why is spinel really here? A: well, remember when she first came into existence and swept the fandom off her feet with her cartoony cuteness and janked up past? This was created around that time. And while I was indeed very sympathetic with pink pigtails, I never thought about including her in this.
That is until the fandom.
You see, before COPPA came along, old steven universe clips were riddled with the "spinel's still waiting in space" trope, which I was sort of fine with at first, but then literally it came to the point you'd see it everywhere you saw young steven. They just kept on appearing over and over again. It drove me insane. It was both annoying and saddening, having to be reminded of the poor pink noodle's trauma. And when I saw a comment like that on another steven universe book, I broke and decided to take her along for the ride so I wouldn't be reminded.
Q: why does reader squint her eye? A: she has no eyebrows, so this substitutes as the look of confusion or curiosity.
Q[by AceOfWeebs]: how strong is the reader? A: they've got as much strength as a rhino at this point, bur it'll change as the story progresses.
