CHAPTER 5: ACCIDENT

The sun was beaming hot today. Tignan pa lang ito mula sa loob ng sasakyan ay tila ramdam mo na ang init nito sa balat. The music really helped to lightened up the atmosphere. Hindi siya nakakaramdam ng kahit anong pagkabagot sa pagmamaneho.

Halos limang oras na ata siyang nasa daan. Humihinto lang ito kapag bibili ng makakain.

Sumabay siya sa liriko ng kanta nang tumunog ang phone niya. She glance over her phone and saw Jordin's caller id. Sinagot niya ito.

˝Babe!"

"Di mo kailangang sumigaw, naririnig naman kita." tawa niya.

˝Ahh s-sorry. I just want to know if you're fine. Ayos ka lang ba? Wala bang nangyaring masama sayo?"

She smiled. "Oo naman. I'm on my way to the event I've told you. Malapit na'ko."

Narinig niya ang buntong-hininga nito. ˝Glad to hear that. Please take care of yourself. Call me if something bad happened. Pupuntahan agad kita."

"Don't worry about me. Kaya ko na ang sarili ko. Besides, you can't dashed here on time if you were there in Cagayan Valley, right." she teased.

Natahimik ito. She once glance again her phone. "Hello babe? Nand'yan ka pa?"

"Y-Yeah...I'm sorry. I'm really sorry Carq."

"Sorry for?"

"For...for everything." she stopped the car when the red light showed.

"I don't understand you."

"Basta bumalik ka ng buo at walang galos. Sasabihin ko ang lahat sayo."

Bigla siyang naguluhan sa sinabi ng nobyo. What does he mean by that? Something crept inside of her-a hunch that once had invaded her mind.

Jordin already explained everything to her. Ang babaeng kasama nito sa motel ay pinsan lamang niya. Then what's his apology for?

Hindi nagtagal ang kanilang pag-uusap dahil tinawag na ng trabaho ang kaniyang nobyo. He just left him with curiousity and queries. Kailangan niyang magconcentrate sa trabaho para hindi siya pumalpak dito.

Mariin siyang pumikit. Hindi na nakatulong ang musika sakaniya upang mabawasan ang agam-agam niya sa sarili.

As she opened her eyes. It suddenly widenes at what she sees. Mabilis pa sa alas kwatro na tinapakan niya ang break ng kotse.

But the break was busted. Ilang ulit niya itong tinapakan ngunit ayaw nitong gumana. Nilihis niya ang kotse hanggang sa dumako ito papalapit sa bangin.

She closed her eyes again. Naalala niya ang malabong mukha ng lalaking nagligtas sakaniya.
