bad decisions by the strokes
Sage:
I pushed past the crowd, yelling and chanting surrounding me."Watch where you're going bitch!" Some Gryffindor says and I flip him off, cocky Gryffindors always think they can act if you are the one that hurt them. I push past him and he scoffs, but then I see Pansy waving at me to come her way.
"Nice colors," She laughs out.
"Thanks, I thought I would support both teams!" I breathe out gesturing to my cheeks. There is silver and green on one side and a yellow six on the other, Cedric's number.
"Sellout," Charlotte adds teasingly.
"Whatever," I say smiling too. We are in one of the mixed houses quidditch towers and looking out into the field I try to find Cedric in the swarm of people, flying about getting ready for the game.
I don't see him at first but then I see a Hufflepuff coming my way and immediately recognize him. He whizzes over and grins widely, making me smile too. He quickly leans down on his broom and presses his lips to mine. The kiss is short and hard and perfect.
"Good luck!"
"I'll have better luck without this." He wipes his thumb across the cheek with my house's colors.
Switching hands on his broom he takes his other hand and cups my other cheek making my heart race faster than before, warming me up in the cold.
"This, this I like." Just as fast as he came he left. Rushing back to his team. Knocked out of my trance I hear Pansy say
"What the hell was that? You are supposed to be rooting for us!"
"I am... Internally." I say with a cheeky grin spread across my face. June nudges me a bit as the game is about to start. I look back at the field and Cedric waves at me.
I see another Hufflepuff nudge him a bit making him lose balance slightly, but still, he has a goofy grin all the same. I wave back and smile.
The game is called to begin and everyone starts flying about. It's hard to keep track of at first but then I can track Ced like a hawk. He's fast, I mean really fast, no wonder he's the seeker.
Draco continues to try and get the snitch but it's useless. They are both so fast but not fast enough. In the beginning, they stay away from each other not even bumping into each other.
But, after a while, they are practically brawling in the air. Draco hurls himself into Ced and knocks him to flip on his broom but he's back in no time reaching out for the snitch but it moves away again.
Their course turns my way and I watch with more intrigue. I don't want Ced to get hurt. Well, I don't want either of them to get hurt, but Merlin is interesting. Their racing around turning and twisting, they pass our tower, and Astoria yells
"Go Malfoy!" I can just barely make out him rolling his eyes and slowing down a bit
"C'mon Ced!" I say cupping my hands around my mouth and yelling as loud as I can. Cedric's face lights up with a grin and goes even faster toward the snitch.
While Draco slows down a bit and then jerks a bit as if he was just shaken out of a daydream and speeds up again.
The game is close, everyone on the edge of their seat as points are counted for each team. Cedric and Draco race around the whole time, trying to catch the snitch before the other.
Part of me wants the Slytherins to win. I mean house points, a party, everyone happy for days and loads of fun. But the other part of me, the larger part of me desperately wants Cedric to win.
I want to see him happy, that silly boyish smile on his lips, and the exciting way he talks when something good happens. I know just how happy he'll be if he wins.
So I cheer louder, jumping up and down and raising my voice as loud as it will go. I spot Cedric again, racing next to Draco as they fight for the snitch, Draco is ahead and almost grasping it in his hand, it's centimeters away, but then Cedric pushes him out of the way, hard.
I mean really hard, too hard. Is Draco okay? What if he's hurt? Nothing, nothing if he is hurt. Sage, you hate him to shut up and watch Cedric. But I can't.
It replays over and over in my mind pushing Draco out of the way, way way too hard and I can't. Why would he do that?
"And Hufflepuff wins, number six seeker Cedric Diggory catches the snitch!" Jordan spews into the mike.
"Sage, Sage, did you hear that? He won." knocked out of my trance once again this time by June, I say
"Yes, yes how exciting!" She gives me a confused look and I plaster a smile on my face. It was nothing, don't worry about it, it doesn't matter.
I turn around racing down the tower, one step at a time. One breathe at a time, breathe Sage breathe. I reach the bottom and head out into the field, along with all the other friends coming to congratulate their housemates.
Cedric comes rushing toward me picking me up in a large hug spinning me around. At first, I'm repulsed not by him, just in the past when I've dated a quidditch player and they try to hug me after a game they are drenched in sweat. But he isn't, I suppose it's due to the cold? He kisses me urgently and I break away saying
"That was amazing! That was so fun to watch, you did so well!" His grin only grows wider as he says
"Couldn't have done it without you!" he says pecking me on the cheek with his number on it, he then wraps an arm around me and starting to walk.
"How are you not drenched in sweat?" I speak the question that's been bothering me.
"Oh that, yeah, I used a charm. I wanted to hug you but it's a bit gross otherwise."
"Agreed," I say, amazed that he was so thoughtful as to use a charm on himself just before hugging me.
