"Rowan," a loud voice said in a cheerful tone. "It's good to see you, man."

We turned around to see who was talking to him, and I pulled my shades off with a bright smile on my face.

A chubby, middle aged man held his hand out for Rowan to shake.

I loved the vibe Rowan had going on here at the office. Today was my day to meet everyone at his office and see what he did when he wasn't at home.

Or killing.

"And this must be the lovely wife," he said altogether.

"She's just a friend, Luís," Rowan said with a smile of his own.

I wish I still had my shades on so that I could roll my eyes at his hypocrisy.

"You don't bring a friend to work. Especially not one this pretty," Luís said, taking my hand and kissing it.

I felt my smile grow.

"If you've never seen a friend at work, it's because he doesn't have any," I said, causing him to laugh.

"She's a funny one, I tell ya'" he told Rowan.

"Thank you." I grinned as blush covered my cheeks.

Rowan produced a fake laugh of his own. "You know I have a few jokes about unemployed people," he said. "But, none of them work."

That sent me and Luís over the rail with laughter.

I was a bit shocked that he was laughing. If Rowan was as scary as I thought, this man should've been pissing his pants in fear.

After the laughter settled down, Rowan told me that he had some business to take care of in his office. He asked the chubby man to go and get someone named Santee to show me around the place.

Luís nodded and walked off.

Rowan stood with me as we waited for him to come back with the mystery guy.

"Why didn't you snap his head off?" I asked him once he was out of earshot.

He smirked. "Is that something you're willing to se-"

"Heck, no," I cut him off, my voice filled with disgust.

He laughed loudly, his voice echoing in the lobby.

I shook my head, but couldn't help the smile that took over my face from his beautiful laugh.

I liked the look of happiness on him. It was rare.

"You're an idiot, Rowan," I mumbled, rolling my eyes.

"What do you think about the place?" he asked me, changing the subject.

I nodded my head in approval as I looked around.

The building was glass from floor to ceiling. But, the cool part was that you could see the world from the inside of the building, but you can not see the inside from the outside of the building.

The building had to have been at least twenty floors.

The interior was white and gray with black designs. It was a close resemblance to the decor at his house.

There were people all over the place and I knew for a fact that he didn't know everyone's name that worked here. It would be nearly impossible.

You could practically feel his powerful aura all the way across the room. Everyone that passed by us nodded respectfully before sending us a smile.
