I stopped and sat back down on the chair.

"May I ask, where is your daughter?" I asked the woman. Her smile altered and her eyes looked a little sad. Maybe I shouldn't have asked that question.

"She's gone" The lady simply said.

"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked."

"No dear, it's okay. It was a long time ago too. She wanted to explore the world but I told her it's too dangerous but she didn't listen. She disappeared and I haven't heard from her in three years."

I placed a hand on the poor lady's shoulder to which she smiled.

"You look just like her. With your brown eyes and beautiful long brown hair. This dress was actually her favourite."

"I'm so sorry, I hope you hear from her soon." The woman didn't say anything but smiled.

"Oh dear sweetheart you should get going now. It a quarter to 8."

She was right.

"Will I make it there in time if I just walked" There was no way in hell I'm going to walk up a hill in a heavy dress in heels!.

"Of course not. I will get you a carriage" The lady said before going out to call for a man.

Not too long later two horses led by a man with a carriage attached showed up. I got in and sat on the seat not before waving to the kind woman.

The carriage started moving towards the direction of the castle.

It was was 7:55 when I arrived in front of the gates. A soldier lead me to a door to which I entered. Before I entered the castle, I took in the sight of the exterior. It was beautiful, the walls were white with some gold spots and patterns as decoration. Once I was inside the floors were white and blue coloured terracotta. It was a long and wide corridor that was filled with soldiers, men and women, as well as people in the higher class from other villages and kingdoms, I assume. I walked to the end of the corridor and was met with a large room filled with people dancing, loud music and chatter.

There were many women in beautiful dresses. But I saw a lot of women looking at me and pointing at my dress. Many smiled while others looked jealous. I mean this dress is pretty, what can I say. But there were many other prettier dresses in this room not just mine.

I continued looking around until I saw that there were two sets of stairs on the side that no one was standing on and were guarded with soldiers. I looked up to see where they led up to.

I looked up to see the king with his person knight and two other soldiers. It was King Jay. I'm not sure if I should run or not. But I mean this is a dream and he probably is different and has no idea that this is all a dream.

I didn't realise I was starring too much until he looked at me. Straight at me and only me. I stopped starring when I saw his personal knight stand up. Shit I forgot he's the king and it was probably rude to stare at him for too long.

I left the ballroom and went into a smaller room that was near. I don't want my head to be chopped off because if I die in my dream, I'd die in real life.

This door lead to another long corridor. But this room was empty, not even a single guard. On the sides of the room were paintings. I'm assuming that they were all previously in the royal family.

One of the paintings caught my eye.

It was the painting of Jay.

This painting looked so realistic, it has all his features but him in the royal outfit. I must say he looks rather handsome.

"You must like me a lot, miss" I heard someone say behind me.

I turned around and it was King Jay.

"Your highness" I said while bowing to him. Ha he doesn't even know my name. Yeah this is just a dream.

"Your dress looks beautiful on you" His voice was sincere, different from the real Jay whose voice always sounds intimidating and sharp.

"Thank you sir" I said bowing to him again.

"Are you here alone?"

"Yes, I am"

"Well let's ditch this place, it's too noisy anyway." I was taken back by his calmness and the way he casually talked to me.

He grabbed my arm and drag me to who knows where. I was struggling to keep up with him. Don't forget I'm still in heels and a heavy dress.

Eventually, we find ourselves outside and into a beautiful garden.

"This is the royal garden built for me and only me" The king said. I sat down on a bench breathing heavily.

"Are you tired already? We didn't even run that much" The king laughed.

"I was running in heels, your highness" I was still being formal although I look like a dying dog.

"Please, call me Jay" He was being informal with me and felt great.

"What's your name?"

"April"

"Well April, you are the first person that's been in this garden besides my gardeners. Not even my own knight has been in here"

"But why?" Why me. I mean we only just met. I mean I know you but you're a king in my dream. Wait, that's why. This is MY dream lolol.

"Just because." He simply said.

We went quiet, all you could hear was the crickets and the music from the castle, which was still pretty loud from here.

"May I have this dance?" Jay asked as he held his hand out for me to take. I didn't know how to dance but I still took his hand.

I don't how long went by but I was enjoying his company. We followed the sound of the Cellos and Violins. Spinning around and moving with the beat. Then the music stopped.

"I would like to see you again. You're someone I can be comfortable around. Being the king can be lonely at times." Jay's remark made me smile. This Jay was much better. If only dreams were reality. I knew I was gonna wake up soon, but I hoped to have this dream again.

"Of course, Jay" He smiled when he heard me say his name and not his position in this society.

"You should probably leave now before the guards drag you out. There's an exit down there with no guards right now." He pointed to a gate that as he said has no guards.

I nodded and began to walk. I heard Jay say something behind me.

"Please visit again"

My eyes flutter open and I was met by the sunlight shining through my window.

"I want to go back."
