Chapter 44: Sun Jiangguo’s Will (1)

The next day, when Chen Shu went out, Ye Sui’s door was closed, and she was still asleep. His eyes stayed on it for a while, as if in deep thought.

While Chen Shu was working, he had been pondering about what Ye Sui said to him last night.

“Chen Shu, do you think there are ghosts in this world?”

It was not the first time Ye Sui had asked him such a question. But every time he gave her a negative answer that there were no ghosts in this world.

And every time he finished this sentence, Ye Sui’s expression would not be quite right the way he spoke. Was there something he missed?

Meanwhile, Wang Chuan first came in. He saw Chen Shu contemplating with his eyes on the document in front, but his attention was not on it.

As a competent employee, Wang Chuan felt it was necessary to relieve his President’s troubles. “President, what’s the problem?”

Hearing the voice of Wang Chuan, Chen Shu raised his eyes and looked at him. He spoke faintly, “Wang Chuan, do you believe there are ghosts in this world?”

At first glance, Wang Chuan thought there was something wrong with his ears, and he didn’t process Chen Shu’s statement.

Wang Chuan thought Chen Shu was about to bring up work-related issues. Unexpectedly, he asked him this kind of question. Was it associated with Ye Sui?

Chen Shu’s eyes still fell on Wang Chuan. Since he asked him, he had to bite the bullet and answer it.

Wang Chuan pondered hard and said, “I remember my grandmother knew a deity matron, who said that every few days, she would be possessed by gods and could talk to the dead.”

“I think it’s better to believe it than not to. Even though we can’t see ghosts, they might exist. If President wants, I can help you contact someone in this field.”

Wang Chuan reckoned he had given the perfect answer.

However, Chen Shu only waved his hand. “All right, you can leave.”

Wang Chuan turned and left the office in a confused manner. In the corridor, he met Cheng Sheng, who was waiting for the elevator, and bumped his arm.

“What if someone suddenly asked you if there were ghosts in the world. What does it mean?”

Cheng Sheng did not even turn his head. “He definitely doesn’t want to talk to you, so he brought this topic up casually.”

Wang Chuan, suddenly enlightened, nodded. It turned out that this was the case. Their President’s way of thinking was indeed different from that of ordinary people and could not be guessed.

Chen Shu called Ye Sui before he left work. Having nothing to do, she quickly picked up the phone.

“When will you be home?”

Ye Sui was surprised since Chen Shu asked her for the first time. She didn’t think much of it, though. “I’ll be done soon. Why?”

Chen Shu glanced out of the window; the sky was still bright, and the sun was shining. He added, “I left work early today. Do you want me to pick you up?”

Ye Sui immediately answered, “Alright. I’ll wait for you at the back door of the company.”

When Chen Shu arrived at Ye Sui’s company, she was standing under the sunlight. From time to time, she would raise her hand against the glaring sun. There was a big tree beside her, but she refused to stand in the shade.
