"When do I start?"
"Two days from now. You leave midnight tomorrow,"
Y/n nods heading towards the door.
"Y/n" her father says
She turns.
"Don't let me down."
She nods again before heading out.

Davids POV

"He was nothing to me. Neither are you" then she walked away with the Agent.
I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out.
I could tell if she actually meant it.
She was serious about a lot of things. And I'm her brother, her biological brother.
And yet she tells me that I'm nothing to her.
David knew that she was just mad and confused.
But he just couldn't fathom the idea of why being caring was so bad for her.
Like why couldn't she be a normal ass teenager.
She's fucking fifteen this shouldn't be her life!
I'm only a year older, but I will always feel protective of her.
It makes me realize that nothing is normal.
People who are born and raised a certain way are normal. It's just their "normal"
And our normal is sadly being raised with high agents in an industry that we don't even know is good.
Me and Vicky would always talk about how we weren't sure whether our job was right or wrong.
She often vented to me about how she would have rather died in the fire along with her parents.
I knew she was glad to have grown up with me and y/n.
But she never wanted this life, even though she had no experience with any other lifestyle.
David always understood where she was coming from.
He always felt close to her even when they weren't officially together.
He laughs at it now, but he can remember when they were younger they always made fun of eachother.
He remembers at one point they both despised each other.
But it wasn't until we went on our first mission together that we became close.
When they were together the sudden gap that filled his chest was filled with her love and compassionate self.
He felt happy and her presence was all he needed to keep him sane.
Y/n and David were never really that close. Their relationship was more protective than caring.
Of course he always cares for his younger sister.
But she never showed all that much towards him.
Of course he knew she loved him...in her own way.
But they stood up for each other.
A direct quote from her when she was six and he was seven.
"I'm the only one that can hurt you. No one will or can replace me"
.
He always laughed at this. She was always a handful. But she did truly have a special place for him and Vicky.
Vicky was the only one to make her more compatible.
Even though y/n never wanted to admit it.
And it was suddenly now that David wondered about what y/n had said.
About being "soft".
He smiled at the idea that Vicky most likely had planted that seed in her.
It was crazy how y/n didn't seem to notice or even think of the idea.
She is the deadliest assassin. At least in our industry.
And to places we've had missions on.
She always got a thrill when she got to go one.
We've only ever been on at least five together in our life together.
Out of the both of us it was obvious who our father liked better.
And David didn't mind.
Our father and y/n shared more qualities and relations rather than him.
He is thankful that he didn't inherit his fathers personality.
He also often thought about his mom. Unsure of what she was like. He had never met her, nor has y/n met her either. But y/n always says she was glad about it. That she'd rather have her father.
But I always told her that that's because she only ever knew our father.
However she always insists on always choosing him over anyone.
Constantly trying to please our father she clung to him like a leach. Doing everything she possibly could.
It was in the back of his mind that their dad was using her.
He didn't doubt that it wasn't true.
But he knew that their father loved them. Despite everything.
Maybe even if it was buried deep down.
And that's why it hurt when y/n had said that he was nothing to her.
Even though he knew she didn't mean it.
At least hoping so.
But even if she did, all that mattered was that he cared for her.
But it still didn't extinguish the slightest bit of anger Wehling up inside him.
He did a lot for y/n that she never took notice to and probably never.
