.History Repeating (Part 1).

"Good Morning everyone. Alrighty." Alaric greets the class, being the knew history teacher after Damon had killed Tanner. Brooklyn walked into the room and made her way to an available seat while Alaric writes his name on the board, needing to visit her locker after she and her sister got to school.

Elena turned to Bonnie and mouthed, "Are you okay?" Causing the witch shrug in response.

"Alaric Saltzman. It's a mouthful, I know. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Saltzman is of German origins. My family emigrated here in 1755 to Texas. I, however, was born and raised in Boston. Now the name Alaric belongs to a very dead great-grandfather I will never be able to thank enough. You'll probably want to pronounce 'Alaric' but it's 'Alaric', okay? So, you can call me Rick. I'm your new history teacher."

Outside the school, Elena approached Brooklyn after Bonnie had informed her of her nightmares revolving around the necklace. Bonnie hadn't told Brooklyn as she didn't want to worry her, as well as the fact she thought that her sister would react the same as her Grams and tell her to embrace it.

The two girls began walking and talking before their eyes found Stefan sitting on a picnic table, causing them to go over.

"Hi." Stefan greeted when they stopped in front of him.

"You weren't in class, I was worried." Elena replied, while Brooklyn crossed her arms.

"Yeah, I got your messages, and I'm sorry I didn't get back to you, but what I wanna say shouldn't be said over the phone." Stefan said, the witch narrowed her eyes slightly at his guarded expression.

"I'm sure a text would have sufficed." Brooklyn snorted, "Ya know, 'Uh, hi, I uh, didn't end up killing my stupid brother, but who knows, there's always tomorrow.'" She added, imitating the vampire opposite her with an eye role, after seeing that his brother planned to kill his best friend of a hundred years Stefan was indignant to say the least.

"I didn't kill my, stupid, brother," Stefan confirmed, repeating her statement, "as much as he deserved it." He finished before looking over at Brooklyn, "He has you to thank you for that." He told her due to the fact the only reason Lexi was alive was because she risked exposing her magic in front of the council to save her.

"So, what did you wanna tell us?" Elena asked looking at Stefan with a raised brow.

"I won't be coming to school anymore." Stefan revealed making Elenas eyes widen slightly while Brook leant forward slightly.

"I'm sorry, what?" Brooklyn blinked, thinking she misheard him.

"I'm gonna back off and keep my distance. It's the right thing to do." Stefan replied making the both of them furrow their brows.

"Right thing to do my ass Stefan." Brooklyn scoffed, not understanding why he was being so closed off all of a sudden, "Where the hell is this coming from?" She asked in confusion, brows furrowing as she looked at the vampire. She could understand him doing this if Damon had actually killed Lexi but he didn't, he thought he did. Right now alienating himself from the people that care about him wasn't going to help him deal with the fact his brother was a total ass.
