50. DRUNK

DESPITE A FEW MORE WEEKS PASSING SINCE THEN, nari couldn't get jungkook off her mind. the same way jungkook couldn't nari off his mind. by now, nari had found a short term modeling job to pass time. bigger companies weren't willing to sign her because of the controversy.

nari stumbled into her apartment with a heavy sigh, setting the groceries she had just purchased. she walked towards the drawer and pulled out the golden key that jungkook left behind in her apartment. even after almost two months, jungkook never came back to retrieve it from nari.

nari knew jungkook had reverted back to his old habits. his sleepless eyes didn't go unnoticed by nari the last time they had seen each other.

she lifted up the groceries she had bought just minutes ago in one hand. in her other hand she held jungkook's keys. nari checked the time on her watch, before running out of her apartment to the one next door.

nari stuck jungkook's spare key into the apartment right next to hers. she chuckled softly, remembering the last time she had been here. she remembered the memories she wished to relive.

nari opened his door with a light frown, carefully closing it behind her. she took a deep breath. nari took a double take, making sure the home was empty. her eyes danced from one corner of jungkook's apartment to the other.

empty.

there wasn't a single person inside, no sign of jungkook anywhere.

as nari glanced around the small apartment, she noticed the vast changes. one corner of the apartment had been turned entirely into a mini studio.

"he probably doesn't sleep." nari shook her head, whispering, "the mini studio is just an excuse for him to overwork himself."

nari continued to scan his apartment. the mess stood out to her at once. jungkook wasn't a fan of keeping his work place a mess. he couldn't focus. his mind would be all over the place. nari shook her head. she walked over to his mini studio, taking a look at the dozens of papers. nari bunched them into a small stack on his desk - just the way he liked it.

nari couldn't help but frown, before making her way to jungkook's kitchen. it seemed to have been untouched for weeks, unless jin cleaned it for him. nari opened the refrigerator. she stared at the inside of the refrigerator for a minute with narrowed eyes.

"of course it's empty." she mumbled.

nari rolled her eyes. she wasn't the tiniest bit surprised. he never took care of himself. he'd go sleepless for three nights to "work" or he'd live on ramen for a month and say "i was busy."

"jin hyung didn't buy my groceries." she mocked jungkook's tone, "i'll buy them next time."

nari couldn't help but frown as memories filled her. the times that she and jungkook went to the grocery store together. the day that she ate with all of jungkook's friends. a non ending cycle of memories.
