She told me it would be her and Percy, but there's an array of people here. Namely Connor, Thalia, Grover, and that centaur that one of the party ponies called Chiron.

"I'll get straight to the point, what's wrong with you?" Annabeth started

That was quite blunt..... hurt my feelings a bit

"I don't understand what you're trying to say"

"I'm sorry Mike, what she means is..... why in the Hades are you so good at fighting" Percy decided to butt in

"It's not just that, despite being in battle, you seem to face no emotional changes..... this isn't normal for people who've had a normal life up till now." Thalia added

Despite my warning, she continued to dig away into my character. Threats weren't going to work against people who could die at any moment.

"We understand if you don't want to tell us, but we'd like for you to trust us if possible" Annabeth pleaded

Truthfully speaking, I'm sure I could tell them everything about the Whiteroom. In fact, I'm sure it's operating in Japan right now. They've probably faced stranger things, and wouldn't treat me differently than now.

This was the advantage of being with these people, my past may not seem too strange as they've all experienced something terrible.

However, there was some feeling I couldn't shake off. A feeling telling me not to divulge the truth, lest I want to destroy my peace.

"Im just a normal person" I answer

"Dude, I get that we don't have the best grades, but we aren't complete idiots" Percy said

"Well I wouldn't say that, you and the Stoll brothers would definitely fall under the 'Complete Idiots' category." Thalia chastised him

"Okay, well even this 'Complete Idiot' can see he's lying!"

"Alright! Alright! We get it Perce! Just be still for now..." Annabeth scolded him

"Look Mike, we aren't here to treat you differently, we've all had our fair share of terrible experiences. I just need you to trust us..."

It seems no matter my excuse, these people won't let me off easy. For now I need a believable past.

"I suppose it's how I was raised by my father. He believed that an apocalyptic event was certain to happen, so he trained me. Weapons, scavenging, and the control of my emotions"

Of course this was a lie, but some of it could be seen as the truth. I just hope they don't rely on me for scavenging, I've never actually done it before.

"Your dad sounds like a lunatic...."

"Damnit Connor, we said no judging!"

"Sorry, sorry.... couldn't help myself" he smiled

"Wait a minute, I can understand the weapons and the scavenging part, but why emotions?" Percy inquired

"It's simple, showing emotions allows for others to take advantage of them..." Thalia answered for me

"So then, you believe we're going to take advantage of you?" Annabeth asked

"Not really"

"Then why do you hide your emotions from us? It's alright to show your fear, everyone here was afraid in the beginning"

This girl was persistent, she continued to try and make me trust them. Was my past not enough?

Truth be told, I'm simply not in fear of the situation. Though that's not the main issue... it's just that
