"You've been quite busy ever since I claimed you" The man, rather, my father began

"Already making a name for yourself, you know you really make trouble for me" he continued, swinging his can of Diet Coke around

"But I can't deny that you also helped me quite a bit" he grinned

"As such, we of the council find it fitting to give you a reward" He finally looked me in the eyes

Looking into them, I could see terrible images flooding my mind. People being strangled by vines and other being morphed painfully into dolphins

"You see, some of us are a bit interested in you. Some want to kill you, others want you to work for them. So we've come to an agreement. Choose one of us, become a prophet" he finished, completely serious

A prophet?

"You seem confused, so I'll dumb it down for you. You will serve one of us, be in our control. In turn, that god you serve will grant you their power. You won't be a god, but you'll be pretty damn close" he explained

For a normal person, the benefits would far outweigh the negatives. However, I wasn't a normal person

"What do you mean I will be in their control?"

"Is it hard to understand? You will act upon their will, listen to their every command"

.....

"And if I refuse?"

.....

"I'd prefer not to see one of my children be blasted apart"

.....

So I had no choice in the matter, for better or worse, I had to choose one of them.

......

Or at least, I'm sure that's what they thought.

"It's quite unfortunate, but I prioritize my own freedom over anything else. I must refuse this so called 'reward' " I answered

"You insolent fool!" Zeus raised his hand, this time no one stopped him

A giant thunderbolt appeared in his raised hand. It crackles with power, and just the pressure it gave off was enough to tell me I would die if it hit

But....

I knew it wouldn't

"Brother! Have reason! Our children will also be obliterated!" Poseidon seemed to understand the severity of his actions

However, Zeus did not listen anymore. Overcome by rage, he threw the bolt at me.

Everyone cowered to the back of the throne room. No one would be able to escape the blast.

However....

Before it struck, a giant wall of flames blocked the weapon.

As the flames dissipated, I could see Zeus begin to look around in bewilderment. E landed his gaze upon a rough looking man with a large hammer

"Is this your doing, Hephaestus?"

"You think I'm stupid enough to save that brat?" He spat

Still confused, Zeus continued to look around

Finally he looked back at me

"Enough is enough, reveal yourself elder sister" he shouted

After saying so, a flame erupted from the ground next to me. It wasn't hot, but rather gave off a warm welcome feeling
