A Drakon...

A sub-species of dragons in Greek Mythology. Wingless-Serpent like creatures that would rule the skies in ancient times. Their numerous sharp teeth, poisonous breath, and impenetrable scales made them nearly impossible to kill.

Such creatures would be classified as legendary, even within Greek Mythology.

"Damnit, we don't even have the supplies to last another attack from his normal army. How are we supposed to face off against a Drakon!" Thalia screamed

"Thalia calm down! You're the one who said we were going to defend against them somehow" Percy retorted

It seemed to help for the most part, as her breathing began to stabilize.

"How many fighters do we have?" Percy asked

"Not many left.... about two dozen demigods, and half a dozen satyrs. Of course we have the party ponies now, but there's no way we're gonna be able to keep them under control" Grover answered

"Those are the ones in fighting shape right? Can we heal a few more people with Ambrosia and Nectar to fill up the ranks?" Percy asked hopefully

"Not possible, everyone's taken too much already. If they take any more, they'd be putting their lives in danger" Thalia crushed his hopes

".... this isn't looking so good"

Seemingly done with words, Percy began heading out of the lobby. The rest of the battle-ready people followed behind.

Upon exiting the lobby, we met Chiron who also seemed concerned with the Drakon's roar.

"I assume you know what the monster who produced that sound was, Perseus?" He asked

"... a Drakon"

"It's as I suspected" he said

"It's not just any Drakon, it's a Lydian Drakon" Rachel spoke from the entrance to the lobby

"Lydian Drakon?" Percy asked

"The oldest and most dangerous kind..." Chiron said, causing many to fear the worst

Oldest and most dangerous? By Lydian Drakon, I assume he spoke of the Maeonian Drakon. A Drakon that terrorized the kingdom of Lydia in ancient times.

If that's the case though, then it wouldn't be considered the oldest and most dangerous, in fact, that Drakon had already been killed once by Heracles.

While it took one of the strongest heroes in Greek Mythology to kill it, we could still garner hope from this. At the very minimum, we knew it could be killed.

"How did you know that?" Percy asked Rachel

"Im not sure, I just know it is. I also know it's fate.... it shall be killed by a child of Ares"

..... Or maybe it can't be killed

"And you know that...how?" Annabeth asked

"I just do" Rachel retorted

"I hope you're wrong... we're kind of out of stock on Ares kids right now" Percy said nervously

"Shit... it must've been your spy..." Thalia said

"Damnit.... if the spy told Kronos we didn't have the Ares cabin, then he knows we can't kill the Drakon. He intentionally chose it...." Annabeth said

"I swear I'm going to kill this spy!" Thalia yelled in frustration

"We need to send someone back to camp" Grover said

"I've already sent Blackjack, but if Silena hasn't managed to convince Clarisse, I doubt Blackjack will be able to do anything" Percy said
