Chapter 28: Danny Protection Program

"I need you to promise that you won't say anything about what just happened." Allison pleaded to Lydia.

I sat in the backseat of the car, nervously chewing the nail of my thumb. Lydia saw the Kanima, she saw werewolves, how can we keep her out of this when the only information she is missing is the details in-between.

"I'll promise not to say anything about what just happened if you can tell me what the hell just happened." Lydia demanded back, making me roll my eyes but also agree with her. I would probably be the exact same if I was her.

"It's... It's kind of complicated." I chimed in.

"Well, how 'bout you start with why was Derek there? Or where Jackson went, or what is wrong with Erica?" Lydia listed, staring between me and Allison intently, she chuckled a low laugh when me and Allison fell silent. "Oh, do you need a minute to come up with a plausible lie?"

That is actually what we need a minute for, but I won't admit that.

"Part of the reason why I'm asking is because Scott and I aren't supposed to be seeing each other, okay? So, it's better if you just keep what you know to yourself." Allison tried.

Lydia rolled her eyes, "Fine. I'll keep what I know about you and your boyfriend - which is nothing - to myself." She opened the car door ready to go inside but Allison reached out and grabbed her arm.

"Hey. He's not just my boyfriend. You get that, right?" Allison spoke quietly, holding onto Lydia.

Lydia just stared at the hand on her arm, "Let me go."

"Just for one second, please, try and remember..." Allison pleads.

"Remember what?" Lydia asks, as confused as I am.

"Remember what it feels like. All of those times in school when you see him standing down the hall, and you cannot breathe until you're with him. Or those times in class when you... You can't stop looking at the clock because you know that he's standing right out there waiting for you. Don't you remember what that's like?" Allison asked Lydia, momentarily forgetting that I was in the car as she recalled all the love-sick times she has shared with Scott.

I gulped as she spoke, shifting uncomfortably in my spot. Only thinking of one person who I can't wait to see waiting for me outside of class and standing down the hall at his locker while I sneakily watch from a distance.

Stiles.

"I need to make a phone call." I mutter to them, ignoring their replies and getting out of the car and walking up to the front steps to the front door of my house.

The phone rings a couple times before a voice I'm starting to wish would stop being an interruption answers.

"Hello? Mia? How's it going with Lydia?"

"Fuck off Scott, put Stiles on the phone."

"Wow," He laughs, "Someones in a mood, or is it just a mood to talk to Stiles?"

"It might be a full moon, but I swear to God I can take you. Just give me some wolfsbane and a crowbar and I will-,"

"Woah, hey Mia."

"Stiles," I smiled, taking a seat on the steps and staring up at the moon. "You guys find where Jackson went off too yet?"

"Yeah, yeah we did. Good thing you called too, we need your help-," shuffling on the line and muffled voices were heard as i'm guessing Scott started talking to Stiles. "Yes we do- she can help. She's not- Its your time of the month technically... Yeah I am pretty hilarious, thanks- crap-,"
