"Alis na kami, Ma. Thank you for the cake,"
I said goodbye to my mom, she wrapped both Nigel and Marcus a slice because we can't eat it now, kasi nga magdi-dinner pa kami. We girls decided to pay half-half for everything while we're on the road, driving. But the boys insisted to pay.
"Hey," bulong ko kay Racie.
She faced me. "Oh?"
"You have to trick Nigel, unahan mo siyang magbayad mamaya." sambit ko nang mahina kasi baka marinig kami nung dalawa na nasa unahan.
We're using Nigel's car this time. I and Racie were in the backseat, Nigel was the one driving while Marcus was on the shotgun seat. The three of us have our own cards, Allyson, Racie, and I. Every month si Papa naglalagay ng allowance samin sa cards namin, so we have money.
"Anong trick?" nakakunot noo niyang tanong sakin.
I rolled my eyes, ang tanga niya talaga. "Ikaw na bahala! Kahit ano, basta lituhin mo siya, utuin mo. Tayong dalawa ang magbabayad, card ko muna ibibigay ko tapos bayaran mo sa bahay." I carefully whispered.
"Okay," she raised her thumbs at me.
"What are you two whispering about?" chismosong tanong ni Nigel. I saw Marcus faced us, looking in my direction like asking the same question.
"Wala! It's about the guys who wanna court Racie at school," I excused them.
Nigel glanced at the rearview mirror. "Don't let them, mga childish mga kaedad mo.Toxic."
I made a grimaced face, disgusted at him. "Are you suggesting that Racie would date you? Eww lang, ha? Hindi ako boto,"
"Hindi naman ikaw ang liligawan ko, paki ko sa boto mo." bastusan niyang sambit habang tumatawa.
I rolled my eyes again at him. "Huwag ka nang magpapasama sa pagpili ng napkin, ha? Hayop ka," gigil na sabi ko.
"Pfft," hagikhik niya. I saw how his ears turned red, nahihiya din naman pala 'to, hindi lang pinapahalata.
"Can we stop? Pullover there," turo ko sa may 7/11 malapit.
Nigel's brows furrowed. "Why?"
"Just pull over!" I commanded him a little high pitch voice.
Sumunod naman siya. Pinababa ko si Racie tapos bumaba din ako, I opened the shotgun's door and ordered Maru to get out of the car. Naiwan namang naguguluhan si Nigel sa loob. Pinagpalit ko ng upuan si Racie at Marcus, so I can be close to him all throughout the drive.
