Chapter 34

"Bakit ka napatawag?"

My heart was beating so fast when I heard his voice. My hands were really sweating by the time I picked up my phone, kinabahan din kasi ako sa shopee nang mapagtanto kong wala pala akong cash.

["I need your help with Kenzo,"] 

My brows were wrinkled. "What? Bakit ako? Ako ba nanay?"

I heard him cleared his throat. ["He doesn't want to eat unless Aya will join him,"]

"Anong kinalaman ni Aya?" may inis kong ani.

["You know what? I'll just bring him to your house."] I gasped for air when he said that. ["Send me your address, right now. Never mind, I memorized it."]

Mas lalo akong napasinghap habang pino-proseso ang mga katagang iniwan ni Nigel sa telepono. That's when I noticed that I'm not looking presentable with my messy hair, oversized white t-shirt, and pajamas.

Kumuha muna ako ng isang T-shirt at shorts at nag-palit. I ran back to the staircase and called Aya, shit buti nalang nakaligo na ako. I changed Aya's clothes into a yellow summer dress and combed her hair. Hinayaan ko nang nakalaylay and kulot niyang buhok.

"Do we have a visitor, today?" she asked while I was combing her hair.

I faked a smile. "Hindi naman sila masyadong importante, don't worry."

"But why are we dressed up?" I licked my lips and think of something to say. 

"Because I don't want them to get the bad impression about us, okay? Medyo judgemental kasi sila, kaya dapat wala silang masasabi." I explained and put a hair clip on both sides of her hair.

I smilingly nodded, seems like she understands. "Okay! I'm excited!"

Napakunot nalang ang noo ko at naglinis ng bahay kahit konti. May mga kasambahay naman dito sa bahay nila Emeticia pero syempre lahat sila busy, nagpahanda kasi ako ng konti. Of course, they're still visitors.

I was watching on the television with Aya when someone doorbelled. I asked Manang Lupe to open it for me, I don't know why I am so nervous at the moment. I wanna keep everything perfect, ayokong may masabi siya.

"Good afternoon," 

I saw him wearing a white dress shirt tucked inside his pants with a loose necktie. I think he just got out from work straight in here. Kenzo was tugging his shirt and frowned when he saw Aya next to me.

I cleared my throat. "G-good afternoon, upo kayo."
