At last, Jiro! He saves the awkward situation for us. Dali-dali akong nagbihis ng uniporme habang nakatalikod si Jiro at Nigel. Hindi na ako nahintay ni Nigel dahil mukhang galit na galit siyang umalis.
"Nag-away po kayo?" Jiro asked me the obvious.
I took a heavy sigh. "Sort of,"
Jiro escorted me to the main house, the one I saw earlier. Nang makarating kami nakita ko si Nigel na kausap ang Lola niya. Akmang pupunta ako doon at magpapakilala nang pigilan ako ni Jiro.
"Why?" I asked him, looking at my hand he's gripping.
He shooked his head. "It's preferable to face Madam Cordelia with dry clothes,"
"Oh! May damit ba na pwede kong suotin?" he nodded afterward and guided me inside the big old but fashionable and elegant house.
Pinapasok niya ako sa isang malaki at magandang kwarto, babaeng-babae ang kwarto dahil kulay puti at brown ang halos lahat ng gamit. He manly opened the lights and pointed me to the walk-in closet, and that's when my jaw dropped. Wow! This is insane. The clothes are all earth colors, almost all nudes. There were also shoes, from flats to sneakers and heels. And don't talk about pieces of jewelry, because there are all here, organized.
"Wow, kanino 'to?" bulaslas ko.
Jiro gave me a small smile. "Devika, isa sa pinsan ni Sir Nigel."
Tumango-tango naman ako kaya't nagpaalam na si Jiro na lalabas muna siya upang makapag-bihis ako. I gently touched the clothes and see what should I wear. Ibang-iba ito sa mga damit ko sa bahay na puro sexy at makukulay.
"I like this one," I murmured and try it on facing the big circle mirror.
I took out beige corduroy wide-leg trousers paired with white cotton long sleeves that I tucked in loose on my trousers and wore white sneakers. Nag-spray din ako ng pabango, it's not Chanel like I always loved to use but it's fine and smells so good so, I can live with it.
I use the blow dryer in the bathroom and dry my hair. Bago ako lumabas itinirintas ko muna ang dalawang gilid ng bulok ko at itinali sa likod. Lumabas na ako sa kwarto at ibinigay kay Jiro lahat ng basa kong damit, kahit ang uniporme.
"Dumiretso nalang po kayo sa may veranda at nandon po sina Sir Nigel," he told me so I nodded and went there.
Nakita kong nag-uusap sina Nigel at ang lola nito. Nang makita nila ako ay kaagd silang tumigil sa pag-uusap. Nakita ko pa kung paano ako tignan ng lola niya mula ulo hanggang paa, na ikina-kaba ko.
"Lola, this is Adrianna. My friend," pagpapakilala niya saakin.
