Yes, there will be Russian conversations in this book. Use a translator if you wanna figure out what they're talking about. 😏

(Your Name) -

The mass was over in thirty minutes. But I enjoyed every second of it. It was so spiritual, calming. When Sarvente preached, she didn't follow an exact religion, all she did was tell stories about our Father and the Holy Spirit. We sang songs that were filled with joy and melancholy. We prayed together, hoping for the best blessings. But in between all of that, I was still thinking about that man on the pillar. Where is he? And who is he? Was it that guy (Boyfriend) and (Girlfriend) were talking about? What was his name again? Rex? Ryan? Reuben? I couldn't exactly remember.

"Thank you everyone for coming," Sarvente says with a grateful look on her face. "May God bless your souls." (Girlfriend) then turns to me with a slight smile on her face.

"Hey, (Your Name), now's the perfect time to ask Sarvente," she says.

"Ask Sarvente what?" I ask. For some reason, I had terrible memory today.

"You know, ask her if you're able to stay here," (Boyfriend) reminds me.

"Oh," I say, looking down at the ground. As the remainder of the people leave the church, the three of us scoot out of our pew and walk up to the nun.

"Need something?" she hums.

"Sarvente. We know you just met (Your Name), and..." (Girlfriend) starts, but then glances toward me. "We were hoping that you would take care of them. We found them homeless and we decided to help them, but you have the ability to help their necessities." Sarvente stands upward and puts a stern look on her face.

"Well... I... I'd really love to take care of them, but..." Sarvente says, looking away. "But you know how Ruv is around new people. And we only met (Your Name) today. He wouldn't be comfortable at all." So that was his name. Ruv. (Girlfriend) slumps her shoulders in defeat. "But... I might consider it," Sarvente says, thinking. My face brightens as she says this. "But! On one condition."

"Um, okay," I say, feeling needlessly worried.

"Since you both trust (Your Name), I'll allow them to stay here for a max of one week. If things don't turn out that well, then... I'm sorry. Deal?" Sarvente says, putting a smug smirk on her face.

"Deal," says (Boyfriend) and (Girlfriend) in unison. I feel my face start to smile. Sarvente claps her hands together happily.

"Splendid!" She then looks down at me. "I doubt anything will go wrong with you here. I'd like to welcome you with open arms!" She gives me a quick, but sweet hug. I immediately hug back in excitement.

"Oh, thank you!" I squeal.

"Well, sorry, but it's time for us to go," says (Boyfriend), checking the time on his phone. He, (Girlfriend), and I do a quick group hug as a temporary goodbye.

"We'll see you in a few days!" waves (Girlfriend) as the church doors close. It was now only me and Sarvente in the church... and the Ruv guy. The happy-go-lucky nun then looks down at me.

"Now that you're here, let's get you settled!" she smiles, but then frowns afterward. "But before we start, I want you to promise me something."

"Um, sure. Anything," I nervously say. Sarvente then looks at me dead in the eyes.

"There are secretive things hidden within this very church. If you witness it or figure them out, do you promise to not tell anyone about it?" she asks sternly. My heart raced faster as I hesitantly answer.

"I promise, Sarvente."

"Good. I knew I could trust you," she smiles. She then attaches her gloved hand into mine, leading me to the other side of the church. "Come now. I must introduce you to a dear friend of mine." We then walk up right to a blank wall. Sarvente touches it, making a secret doorway appear. I stare in awe as we walk into a small living room.

"So, you guys actually live here? I thought (Girlfriend) and (Boyfriend) were joking," I say. Sarvente just smiles.

"Well, there's more to people than meets the eye," she responds. She lets go of my hand and walks deeper into the room. "Ruv? Ruv, are you here?" she calls. Suddenly, another door opens, revealing the same man from before. He walks closer to us as I stare at him more. He then eyes me and gives me a menacing glare. I noticed he was literally about the same height as Whitty, taller than him, even. (Girlfriend) was right. He was terrifying.

"Um, hi," I say, kind of stuttering. Ruv doesn't respond.

"Uh, (Your Name), this is my friend Ruvyzvat, just call him Ruv for short," Sarvente says, actually looking nervous. "And, um, Ruv, this is (Your Name). They'll be staying with us for a week." Ruv then stares at me for a few seconds. Suddenly, he clenches his fist.

"Сарв, нам нужно поговорить. Теперь," he growls, leaving the living room. Was he speaking... Russian? With an anxious look, Sarvente looks down at me.

"Can... can you speak or understand Russian?" she asks with a fearful look.

"No, I can't," I say. Sarvente nods.

"That's... that's good," she sighs as she gets up and leaves the living room, closing the doorway behind her. I put my ear against the wall to listen to the conversation.

"Итак... почему они здесь?" Ruv asks. I could sense how cold his tone was. It took a while for Sarvente to answer.

"Э-им нужно было где остановиться. (Подруга) и (Парень) нашли их бездомными. Если они не могут заботиться о них, кто будет?" She sounds so scared, and I started to feel bad. Ruv groans in response.

"Я знаю, но нельзя просто так приводить людей сюда, Сарв! Кто знает, чем они займутся!" Ruv exclaims, slightly raising his voice.

"Пожалуйста! Дай им шанс, Рув!" Sarvente begs. My mind was filled with all kinds of questions. What were they even talking about? Ruv didn't reply for a few minutes.

"...Отлично. Но если что-то случится, я виню в этом тебя и этого паршивца." I could hear Ruv's footsteps walk away. Sarvente sighs and enters back in the living room, looking back at me.

"That conversation didn't sound... pleasant," I say, tilting my head to the side. Sarvente smiles sadly, kneeling to meet her eyes with mine.

"Don't worry. I'll try my best to make you feel happy here," she says sweetly. "In the meantime, how about I make you something to eat?"
