(Your Name) -
"But what about (Your Name)?" I hear one of the police officers discussing.
"Shouldn't we bring them to the town's orphanage?" asks another officer.
"I believe so. It's what's best for them," said another.
«...»
"No... no..." I mutter and squeeze my eyes shut. This was a dream. All of it was. I toss and turn in the pew, clutching my arms to myself. My dream was so faint, like a small memory. I could remember every single moment.
The moment when the police showed up at my house.
The moment they went up to the babysitter to tell her what happened.
The moment they took me away from my home.
The moment I arrived at my new penitentiary.
The moment I was officially an orphan.
Why are these things haunting me now? I never had these kinds of dreams back at the orphanage. As I kept whimpering, bursts of extremely cold air covered me. I was cold for... God knows how long. I shivered intensely as I kept my eyes closed. My heart starts beating faster as tiny tears form in my eyes.
This feeling was so familiar.
It was the feeling of being alone, cold and starving, while laying down outside. It felt like I was homeless all over again. I chatter my teeth as I try to open my eyes. Everything I saw was blurry, yet bright. Then... my eyes closed again.
«...»
"(Your Name)!" a muffled voice echoes through my ears. They sounded familiar. "(Your Name)!" they repeat. "Get up!"
I groggily open my eyes. My vision clears, and standing over me was the nun herself. She put a worried look on her face.
"Sarvente?" I mumble. My throat was dry, and my limbs felt weak. "Hehe, nice to see you again."
"Nice to see you, too, (Your Name)," she sighs in relief. "I just came back from the other church five minutes ago. When I came back, I saw you laying here with no blanket! You know it's cold out here at night!" she exclaims in a scared manner.
I sigh. "I'll tell you what happened." Sarvente kneels beside me, ready to listen. I then quickly said as fast as I could, "So Ruv and I were watching a movie and then I fell asleep and then he brought me to the bedroom and then once I fell asleep, I woke up in his side of the bed and it was two in the morning. I got up to find him and he was in one of the pews sleeping. I stayed with him for a bit, but then it got cold I asked for a blanket but he was a freaking jerk so I slept away from him and then I slept and then he gave me something to warm up and-"
"Woah, woah, calm down," Savente buts in. "He gave you something to warm you up, right?"
"Mhm."
"Did you guys have a blanket with you?" the nun asks.
"Nope."
"Then he must've given you his jacket!" Sarvente gushes. As I think about, she was probably right.
"But... if he gave me his jacket, why am I still laying here without any warmth?" I think out loud. Sarvente then frowns.
"OH! THAT DARN MAN!" Sarvente yells, causing me to jump as her vocals echo. "HE TOOK BACK THE JACKET ONCE YOU WERE ASLEEP! HOW COULD HE?! HE SHOULD BE ACCOMMODATING YOU, NOT TRYING TO SLOWLY KILL YOU!" I stayed silent as Sarvente continued her raging lecture. Once she was done, she calmed down and looked at me. "I'm sorry, (Your Name). I never should've left you with him."
