Sarvente -
"(Your Name)," I speak up, as the Sunday light peeped through the windows. "I have amazing news! It's been a week. You know what that means?!"
(Your Name) slowly widens their eyes, already knowing the incoming news.
"You're officially staying with us!" I cheer, raising my arms in the air. "You are a member of our small family!"
"So... this'll be my home from now on?" A small smile spread across their face. "Thank you! Thank you so much!"
"Of course. But I wonder... does he have anything to say?" I quickly frown, turning towards the Russian sitting on the edge of the bed.
He shrugs, "It's alright with me. But promise me that you'll tell (Girlfriend) not to bring homeless people to this place anymore." He angrily squints.
"Oh, but Ruv! There are millions of people in need of a home!" I joke, holding a laugh.
"Don't. You. Dare," he grumbles.
"Oh, well. How do I look?" I ask, already hearing the footsteps of churchgoers entering. I look down at myself, making sure there were no crumples on my clothing.
"You look great," Ruv replies.
"Okay, you stay here, and uh... (Your Name)!" I turn to them. "You ready to pray?" They nod, following me until we entered the church. Once we arrive, there were handfuls of people already sitting on the pews. I look down at (Your Name) with pure excitement.
"It's been a while since I had this much people!" I squeal. Calming down, I notice more about to enter. "You go sit down. I'll go greet the incoming guests."
As I was walking by, I greeted some of the people sitting down, saying a few things like, "Oh, hello! Glad you came!" and "Welcome to the church! Happy to have you!" I shook hands with the elders and giggled at children playing together. The more people I saw, the more excited I grew.
Once I reach the church doors, I slightly open them, seeing a wave of people about to head inside. I felt like I was about to faint. Please tell me this isn't a dream! I thought to myself. I open the door wide for everyone to enter.
As people entered, a few stopped to greet me. An elderly man looked up at me with gratefulness.
"You're doing a good thing here, helping everyone gain hope and faith," he smiles before heading inside. I smile sadly, knowing that one day these people will go on to a place with peace and prosperity, while I won't.
Suddenly, a little girl came up to me, holding a lollipop in her hands. She gushes at me, and then at the church.
"This is my first time coming here!" she says with awe. "I love the color of the church! And you, too!"
"Oh, really?" I smile, patting her head. "That means a lot, my dear."
"Mommy said that pink means kindness and calmness. I can see why!" she smiles one last time before entering.
I got to know a few guests during the act, which could make this day the most successful one yet! I got to meet people from different cultures and nationalities; it was all so interesting.
But I didn't know what fear I would experience a few minutes later.
This one man walked up to me, with a calm look. He looks into the church, eyeing the guests, and then at me.
"Excuse me, Miss Nun? I haven't been much around the town, and I noticed a lot of people coming here. Is there a special event taking place?" he asks.
