(I'm to lazy to space out the sentences and stuff so that's why it's like this)

Y/N finished the origami heart, writing the message 'you are perfect' on the inside. Because that's what she thought he was, perfect. It was no secret she has a crush on a certain Slytherin boy, Draco Malfoy, and it was no secret that he didn't like her. She pretended to not care, instead turning the insults into something flirty. But that didn't stop him from hurting her. It wasn't a small crush, it was starting to become something more. She didn't know what, but she knew she just loved when he smiled, or when he laughed- even if it was at someone, she was still hearing it. She loved how his hair was always done, and how his eyes were so bright, they lit up the room. But he would find the origami hearts and tried to convince himself he hated them. He claimed he didn't need the encouragement, he already knew hoe powerful he was. But he kept them, he kept every single one of them, so he could look at them when his parents were arguing or when he was yelled at by his parents. "How many times do I have to say these are useless, Y/N, huh?" Draco scoffed and put the paper heart into his bag. "I know you think you are making me like you, but your just making it worse. A little word advice, stop focusing on someone you don't deserve and start focusing on fixing yourself. Maybe then your mother will want her disgrace back." Y/N froze, she never froze. She could've sworn she saw the faintest sign of sympathy in his eyes when she met them before quickly turning away. Everyone knew she was the daughter of a wealthy pureblood family, and they all knew she hated it. She was friends with muggle-borns, often visited the muggle world, and you weren't in Slytherin. Everything her mother hated. And her mother hated her for that. Often telling her how much of a disgrace she is, and how she wishes Y/N didn't have to call her house her home. Draco hesitated before laughing at her as she ran away, fighting the tears. Fred and George watched as Cedric ran after her. She wasn't friends with Cedric, they both just kind of knew each other. They met in the first year but never grew close together. That didn't stop him from caring about her though. The only person who knew was Fred, and he loved the idea of them being together but knew Y/N was too focused on Draco, so she let it be. "Y/N, Y/N?" Cedric called, catching up to her as she reached her common room. "What, Cedric?" she asked, letting the tears fall as he took her in his arms. She sobbed into his chest, him petting her hair and holding her tight in an attempt to comfort her. He swayed back and forth gently. "Why did I like him so much? she mumbled between sobs "Why did I care?" Cedric rested his chin on top of her head as they swayed "I don't know, Y/N. To be truly honest, I don't know. He's always been a dick, but it's always been worse for you. I wish I could stop it somehow, I really do." Cedric's words had comforted her, She slowly stopped crying and pulled away from him, looking up at him. He smiled down at her and cupped her face lightly, rubbing the tears away gently with his thumb. He kissed the top of her head, causing her to smile. "Do you wanna go back and finish lunch? You can sit with me and my friends, I'm sure they won't mind" Y/N nodded. "M'kay" Cedric said "Say, do you want to go to Hogsmeade with me next weekend?" "Next weekend isn't Hogsmeade weekend" "I have my ways of getting there" Y/N laughed "As a date?" Cedric grinned "Yeah, if you'd like that. No pressure, of course!" "As long as we don't get caught" - Draco stopped receiving the origami hearts. And to say he was happy about it was a lie. He hated her. Right? He didn't hate the hearts, he knew that, but he hated her. He thought. It had been about a week and a half (not that he was keeping track) since he got one. And he was running out of patience. He saw her spending more time with Cedric and surprised himself by feeling jealous about it. He wanted her, he had to admit. But his ego and pride wouldn't let him. Draco glanced over at Y/N, who was folding a piece of parchment paper. He stifled a smile and waited for her to be done with it. But it still wasn't what he wanted, it was a butterfly. She charmed it to fly, and threw it over to Cedric, who laughed as it hit his nose and fell. Draco had never seen her so happy, but it wasn't enough for him. He needed to be the reason. After class he followed her out to the black lake, where she sat under a tree and pulled out a book "Y/N?" She looked up at him, going stiff when she realized it was him. "What do you want, Malfoy?" she hissed. Draco swallowed and took a deep breath. "I want you to... keep making... the hearts" Y/N raised an eyebrow at him, her expression reading nothing less of anger and confusion. "You told me to fix myself as if there's something wrong with me. Why would I keep doing something to make you like me if you hate me?" "Because I don't hate you, and I was doing it to push you away because I don't like how I don't hate you." Y/N scoffed, but noticed he was being serious. "No, but try being nicer to me, maybe they'll come back. Maybe." "Hey, Y/N, is everything alright here?" Cedric ran up to them. "Yes, Diggory, no need to save her" Draco growled. Y/N glared at him "What did I just tell you?" "Be... nicer" he faked a gag as he said it, she laughed lightly at his dramatics. Harry looked between the two "What?" "He wants the origami hearts back, but I told him not until he starts being nicer." Cedric laughed "Yeah, Malfoy, nice," he said. Draco rolled his eyes "I'll see you around, Y/N" she nodded. Y/N laughed at Cedric's dramatic expression. "Don't worry, lover boy, I've still got my eye on you" - Y/N started making the origami hearts again. She also started to hang out with Draco, seeing the nicer side of him that his friends saw. And to her surprise, Cedric and Draco started to tolerate each other a little more, usually only doing it when Y/N was around, but she also caught glimpses of them laughing together as she walked over to them. She had started dating Cedric a few weeks later when he kissed her in the astronomy tower. Draco was still jealous, but was able to push the feeling down as he seen her happy. "Say, Diggory, you're not as bad I thought you were" Draco said. "You're not too bad yourself, Malfoy" Harry replied. They looked at each other before laughing. Neither noticing when Y/N had sat down across from them. "So, boys, you wanna swim in the black lake?" The two stopped laughing and looked at each other smiling, thinking the same thing. They both got up "Last one there has to skinny dip!" they said in unison before running off.
