The Hawkins High School parking lot was full of chattering students, riding their bikes and parking their cars as I biked across the street the next morning.

Looking over, I saw Steve and Nancy sitting in Steve's maroon car, neither of them looking too happy, Steve had perked up and waved over at me when we made eye contact. My heart fluttering as I waved back as I made my way over to the bike rack, locking my bike as I make my way to the parking lot over to Steve's car.

Hearing loud rock music coming from a navy blue car that I had never seen before, I see the car park, a young girl, about Dustin's age, with long, red hair walked out of the passengers seat, rolling her eyes and placing her skate board down on the gravel and skating over to the middle school, slamming the car door behind her.

A tall, blonde boy decked out in jean came out of the passengers seat, his boots making a loud sound against the gravel as he stepped out of the car. A cigarette was dangling loosely from his lips as he took a look around his new school. Taking a drag, he flicked the cigarette to the side, walking towards the high school.

I could hear the girls already giggling and checking his out, in hopes of dating the newest stud in town. I rolled my eyes and continued to head into the school.

I walk over to Nancy and Steve standing on either side of Steve's car, watching the two new kids make their way in the schools.

"Who's that?" I ask them both.

"I don't know." Nancy sighs, grabbing her bag and throwing it over her shoulder.

I walk to my first class with Steve, seeing as our classrooms were right next to each other. We talked about everything and nothing at the same time as we head over to class.

"So," Steve says. "What do you think of the new kid."

"Eh," I sigh. "Lot's of the girls were heart eyeing him in the parking lot today, he's not my type though."

"Oh?" Steve asks, smirking down at me. "And what is your type?"

We reach the classrooms, grateful I didn't have to answer the question, seeing as I wasn't ready to tell Steve my feelings for him just yet.

"Looks like I gotta go to class." I say, pointing my thumb to the direction of my classroom, blushing hard from his previous question. "See you around, Steve."

"We'll talk about this later!" He shouts, rushing to his class.

I shake my head, clutching my books and head into my classroom, thoughts of Steve ran my mind all period.

Math had seemed to drag on forever, Nancy and I passing notes to entertain ourselves during the boring class.

The bell had rung loudly indicating class was over. Nancy and I, along with Jonathan, grabbed our belongings and headed out of the classroom.

Tina, one of the girls from the class, was leaning against the wall and handing out bright orange flyers to her party. Come and get sheet faced was written in black ink in the front, along with a ghost holding a beer bottle.

"Could I get one more?" Nancy pipes up.

"Sure." Tina handed Nancy a flyer and averted her attention to the other kids walking out of the classroom.

"You're coming to this." Nancy says, shoving the flyer into Jonathan's chest, as we all walked side by side.

"Come and get sheet faced." Jonathan read aloud. "No i'm not."

"We can't let you sit all alone, Halloween," I say. "It's just not... acceptable."

"You guys can relax," Jonathan says, shoving the flyer into his bag and looking between the both of us. "I'm not going to be alone. I'm going trick or treating with Will."
