Season 3 ~ Never-Ending Story

A loud honk echoed throughout the parking lot as Steve and I jump in our seats, Nancy's car pulling in next to us.

"Get in!" She shouts as the mind flayers roars get louder while it crawls off the mall and towards us.

"Go," Lucas shouted as Steve and I climbed in the backseat, sitting across from one another. "go, go, go!"

"Go, go, go!" Steve shouted as we look out the back window, the mind flatter getting closer by the second.

Jonathan quickly turned out of the parking lot and onto the same road Steve and I had taken on the way here.

A few minutes after a silent ride, the only noise being heard was the roaring of the mind flayer hot on our tail, a young girl's voice rang through the walkie-talkie that sat on my lap.

"Dusty-bun," The voice said. "you copy?"

"I copy, Suzie-poo." Dustin says from the other line. "It sounds much better now, thanks."

"Oh," I laugh as I look up at Steve. "I am so giving shit to him later for that nickname."

Steve let out a soft chuckle as he shifted next to me.

"That was Suzie?" Lucas asks, turning around to face Steve and I.

"Apparently." Steve shrugged.

"Okay, so, listen," Dustin's voice says, interrupting the conversation. "do you know Planck's constant?"

"Do you know the Earth orbits the sun?" She retorts in a playful manner.

"Okay," Dustin snickers. "so I know it starts with two sixes, and then a... W-What is it?"

"Okay, let me just be clear on this." Suzie says. "I haven't heard from you in a week, and now you want a mathematical equation that you should know so you can... save the world?"

"Suzie-poo, I promise," Dustin says, panicking slightly. "I will make it up to you as soon as possible."

"You can make it up to me now." Suzie simply says back.

"What?" Dustin asks as Steve and I share a look.

"I want to hear it." She pressed as I could sense there was a small smirk on her face..

"Not right now." Dustin replies quickly.

"Yes," Suzie demands, her voice getting more stern by the second. "now, Dusty-bun."

"Suzie-poo," Dustin says, trying to reason with her. "this is urgent."

"Yes, yes," She sighs. "you're saving the world, I heard you the first time, but Ged is also saving Earthsea and he's about to confront the shadow, so this is Suzie, signing off."

"Wait, wait," Dustin says urgently. "wait! Okay. Okay. Okay."

"What's going on?" Nancy asks, turning to face us as the line went silent.

"Turn around, look at what you see." Dustin sang as his voice rang through the car, Nancy's question being answered as she gives me a look.

"In her face, The mirror of your dreams."

Lucas turned around, giving Steve and I a strange look as we simply shrugged, not knowing where this had come from.

"Make believe i'm everywhere." Dustin and Suzie sang, vocalising together. "Given in the light. Written on the pages is, the answer to a never-ending story!"

As they continue vocalising, I look over at Lucas who was giggling as he was lightly dancing along to the song.

"Reach the stars, fly a fantasy," The two continued vocalising as Will turns around to face us, a look of shock on his face. "Dream a dream, and what you see will be."
