Lucifer, Chloe, and Trixie were sitting around the table. Lucifer had made homemade pizza and the sweet aroma of the sauce and bread filled the apartment as they waited for the oven to finish it's job. Trixie rolled the dice,

"God dammit, I'm in jail." Chloe narrowed her eyes at the preteen,

"Language, Trix." Lucifer nodded,

"I assure you, child. My father will not damn a board game. I on the other hand will happily damn anything you would like me to." Chloe turned her gaze to Lucifer and he flashed her a charming smile,

"Your turn, love." The oven dinged as Chloe rolled and Lucifer got up to take the pizza's out to cool. Suddenly the door bell rang.

"Lucifer, can you get that?"

"Of course." On the other side of the door stood Daniel. Chloe got up, surprised,

"What's up, Dan?"

"It's my weekend with Trixie. I came to pick her up." Chloe shook her head,

"Dan, you canceled. You can't just show up and demand she hang out with you."

"Yes I can, she's my daughter." Lucifer looked at Chloe, then at Trixie. The girl looked on the verge of tears and had moved farther away from Dan and the fighting grown ups.

"Daniel, I don't think she wants to go with you."

"It's none of your business, what's going on with Trixie," Dan spat angrily at Lucifer. The devil shook his head,

"It is my business." He was calm, collected, and firm with his words. Trixie looked like she needed protection and it was his job to protect and defend her.

"Trixie is my daughter. Mine." Dan's voice raised gradually as he spoke. This made Lucifers face grow hot and the anger boiling in his stomach finally spilled out. His words were full of venom,

"Oh really? Well then, where were you when she got the chicken pox and would only eat mashed potatoes for a week? Where were you when she graduated elementary school? Or started middle school? Who moved locker decorations into the school, then out of the school, then back into the school again?"

Chloe looked desperately between the two men. "Lucifer, please. This is not the time." Lucifer nodded apologetically and stepped back.

"Where I was is none of your business. Trixie is my daughter and Chloe's daughter and that's it." At that point Trixie had enough. She stalked over to her father.

"You know what, you don't get to do that. You don't get to come in here and pretend to be my dad when you can't even take the time to drive me to school anymore." Dan looked at her, pleading,

"Trix, please understand-"

"No. I always understand and I don't want to understand. I don't really even want to talk about this right now. I've Lucifer and I've got mom, that's all I need. Go be somebody else's dad." Trixie wiped a tear from her face and tried to hide the rage that filled her.

"Trixie, don't say that." Trixie rolled her eyes at her dad then looked at Lucifer,

"I'm going to my room. Luce, come get me when he's gone." She walked away, angry tears clouding her vision and slammed her door shut.

Chloe and Lucifer exchanged a look, she nodded at Trixie's room, asking Lucifer to go comfort her so she can deal with her ex husband. Lucifer complied. He walked over and knocked softly on Trixie's door. She opened it and pulled him in. As soon as the door was shut again, she wrapped him in a hug, crying into his chest.

Daniel was angry.

"She did not get there by herself." Chloe shook her head, done with this conversation,

"Have you met her, she could get anywhere by herself, she could get to the third dimension by herself." Dan turned and walked towards Trixie's room,

"I'm going to talk to her." Chloe grabbed his arm,

"No, you're not. She doesn't want to talk to you. Respect that. I'll talk to her later."

"Oh, you'll talk to her, that makes me feel so much better," he spat sarcastically.

"Okay, you need to leave. Right now." She walked back towards the door.

"This isn't right. She needs her father." Chloe ran a hand over her face, exasperated,

"She feels like her father abandoned her and she's mad and hurt and I can't change that in three minutes."

"YOU THINK I LIKE THIS SITUATION? DO YOU?" Daniel yelled,

"Dan, do you remember what event in your life lead us here? Do you remember why we're having this very pleasant moment right now?" Chloe was so done with this conversation and the anger was starting to leak into her tone.

"That has nothing to do with this."

"Oh, it, what? Dan, man, what do you want from me?"

"I want my daughter back."

Chloe could've punched him right then and there. "You bailed on her. You chose Charolette and her kids over her."

"I dont like how things are."

"But that's how they are."

"I didn't want things to turn out this way."

"But they did turn out this way. Dan, is Charolette still pregnant?" She tried to keep her voice lowered, but she was failing miserably.

"Yes, of course she is."

"Are you still with her?"

"Yes"

"Are you gonna marry her?"

"Yes, but-"

"Then we are where we are. There is nothing you can do about it." The pressure behind Chloe's eyes warned her that she was going to cry. She swallowed the lump in her throat and turned to ask him to leave.

Before she could, Lucifer come back in. After one look at Chloe, he turned to the other man,

"Daniel, I think you'd better go now." Dan didn't move so Lucifer stepped forward menacingly.  His eyes flashed red, threatening Daniel with his Devil side.

"Leave now." His voice was calm but firm. It sent Dan surging out the door. Chloe closed it behind him and exhaled. She gave Lucifer a small smile,

"You know you need a mask and a horse when you do that." Lucifer walked over to her and held out his arms. She walked into them graciously and he pulled her into his chest. Lucifer brushed a light kiss on her hair and a small smile played across Chloe's lips.

A/N So, I actually really like Dan but I like the concept of Lucifer taking over the dad role for Trixie  so I combined some scenes from Gilmore Girls because I have no original ideas and now you have this. I hope you enjoyed. -Brayden

p.s. titles are really hard, oh my god.
