After I made sure Ava was asleep I felt the need to take a cigarette and stepped out on the balcony that was a part of the room. I lit it up and enjoyed the silence of the night. That was until I saw two figures at the end of the garden. How the fuck did they get in? I squinted, trying to see their faces, but it was too dark. They didn't see me, I guessed, as they tried to carefully walk across it towards the house. It was only a matter of time before my guards caught them, but I felt the need to practice my shooting from distance.

With the cigarette between my lips, I pulled out the gun that was where I always kept it, and pointed it to one of the guys. They were moving slowly, making it easier for me. I got one of them in the leg on the first shot, he let out a quiet pained scream and the other one rushed to him. Stupid choice. I shot him too, in the arm, and then in the leg as well. Neither of them could move, and I saw my guards running towards them. Ava stirred in her sleep, she must have been exhausted to not wake up from a gunshot. Although the balcony doors were soundproof, so. I calmly threw the cigarette on the ground to step on it, and then walked downstairs. I already guessed who they were. Russians.

"Goodmorning, angel," I said when I saw Ava entering the kitchen. She looked hot in my t-shirt. It reached the middle of her thighs. She smiled when she saw me and raised her arms over her head to stretch.

"Goodmorning."

I sat the cup down on the kitchen island and patted my thigh.

"Come."

She blushed when she understood what I wanted, and walked to sit on my lap. I gave her a kiss and lifted my cup to her.

"Coffee?"

She nodded and took it gently. I asked her what she thought about the dinner last night, and how it was meeting everyone. She said that she enjoyed it, and she liked my mother.

All of a sudden Matt and Ben entered the kitchen, with Alesso behind. They had been taking care of the two Russians while I made breakfast for Ava.

"Oh, hi Ava." Matt and Ben said at the same time.

Ava chuckled.

"Hi, guys."

They had gotten to know each other more, as the three of them were here quite often. I just made sure they kept a safe distance, I know how easy it is to fall for Ava. She didn't need nor want more male attention than necessary.

My brother also noticed her in my lap.

"Goodmorning, Ava."

He even gave her a small smile.

"Hi, Alesso."

I squeezed her waist for reassurance, noticing that she still tensed in my brother's presence. She probably thinks he still doesn't like her.

"Don, the two Russians are a part of Sokolov's cartel. They're probably here to see if he's alive still. Some of your men saw more of them near the mansion, waiting for orders." Alesso said, standing by the counter.

"Where are they now?"

He sighed.

"Well the two Russians are downstairs like you ordered, and the ones outside are all dead. They started firing towards us and we didn't have any use for them anyway."

I nodded.

"Good, we can just hope that his men get the message, his younger brother will probably be the leader now. What a fucking mess." I muttered.
