Behind those fake lovely smiles, she hides pain. All those cheerfulness she wants to show was fake. None of those smiles, laugh and energy were real.

It all started when B/n introduced his girlfriend. Well, yeah. B/n and Y/n were childhood friend. Y/n's been hiding her love towards the guy that can't even notice her.

Today is the fireworks display for the end of their school fest. She's been hiding in the bush, she called B/n so she can confess even though she will just receive some rejection. Rejection that will destroy the friendship they build.

Unexpectedly, his girlfriend showed up and same as the time the fireworks display begun. B/n and his girlfriend started on kissing. Deeper and deeper.

Y/n on the other hand, she burst out but someone hugged her from behind and covered her eyes

"Shh. Come on, stop hurting yourself" the someone said

All of sudden, Y/n turned around and hugged that knowing that it was Obanai. A friend of her since childhood same as B/n. She cried on the man's chest as the guy rub her head and kept on shushing her.

Morning came in, little did she know. All of her classmates knew all of it. Those fake smiles, laughter and everything. While Y/n's in deep thoughts, her classmates been talking about her

"She's been acting different lately, it started 3 weeks ago. I hope she'll be back to normal again" Shinobu said

"I miss her cheerful side, it's like she's the color of section Zeus in our course. Her being like that leaves us ... Somehow colorless" Mitsuri commented

"B/n, Y/n liked B/n right? I mean maybe she's been hurt because of B/n having someone else"

B/n then entered the classroom wearing his most cheerful smile and noticed Y/n looking at the window and sighing

"Good morning Y/n, you have a problem?" He ask and Y/n gulped but then able to get a smile, "N-no, I'm actually feeling good"

"By the way, I've waited for you at the tree but you never came" he said and Y/n awkwardly smiled, "S-sorry, something came up that's why I wasn't able to show up. I can't text you since my phone is dead"

"Oh, okay then" B/n answered. Y/n looked outside again and sighed. He knows something was off but he set it all aside since Y/n can solve her own problem and others' problems. She's ..... independent

The class begun and as fast as that, it ended. B/n approached Y/n smiling but Y/n's been in deep thought so she didn't notice him.

"Hey, Y/n. Wanna hang out with me? My girlfriend isn't gonna go with me because of her cheer dance practice" B/n said and grabbed Y/n but on the other hand someone also pulled her

"She's coming with me" someone said and revealed it was Obanai

Tense started to enter the room. None of the students left, nor talk or move. The tense in the room grew bigger and bigger.

"Don't just pull Y/n" Obanai said and completely pulled Y/n. B/n smirked evily and crossed his arm, "So? What's wrong with hanging out with someone who liked me?" He ask that makes Y/n froze.

Obanai noticed this so he hugged Y/n and hold her head and put the other one on Y/n's waist

"What do you think of Y/n? A hoe? A substitute?" Obanai ask in a cold tone. He's throwing B/n those deadly glares of his while B/n, he's not bothered at all

""So? What if it was? Can you do something? Ha? You can't do anything Iguro Obanai! Y/n liked me, so what if I waste time with her useless confession?" B/n said laughing

Y/n was now sobbing and Obanai, seeing this to Y/n made him furious. He breaks the hug and let their classmate handle Y/n. Y/n hugged their female class representative which was Shinobu.

Obanai started to punch B/n on his face, "I thought you're dense but it turns out that you're the worst!" He yelled

B/n was able to defense the next attack from Obanai and gave his payback punch in Obanai's face. "I know you liked Y/n but she liked me, what an unrequited love. It isn't even right to call love triangle since its only a one sided love" he said

"Yeah, and I don't even know what Y/n saw on you that make her love you this much!" Obanai exclaimed and kicked B/n

"Why don't you just let Y/n go with me and have fun. I'll make her smile even though I don't want" B/n said laughing

"Right? Y/n!" B/n said as he grabbed Y/n's arm but he was punched by Obanai and hold Y/n's Arm and hid Y/n behind him.

"Don't you ever bring Y/n into your mess" Obanai said

"Oh yeah?" B/n said and grabbed Obanai's collar and about to punch him when he received a slap.

The commotion stopped seeing Y/n on the center of the two, "Yeah, I must admit. I liked someone who isn't worthy of my affection. What a shame" she said crying facing B/n and behind her was Obanai

"Oh? So you admit" B/n said laughing

"Yeah but you're the more stupid here B/n!" She said wiping her tears, "I may be like you but I won't use myself for your own happiness. I'm not a hoe nor a substitute for your girlfriend. I may be act stupid but those were just acting"

"Oh, really? I'm may be the more but you were the most" B/n pointed out

"By the way, congratulation Mr. B/n F/n. I would like to congratulated you for losing me. The reward would be karma" she said

She picks up her bag and ran outside. She stopped running when she was outside the campus premises. She looked at the setting sun

"Why do I feel numb? Did my tears run out?" She ask looking at the sky

She played the music of Aimer titled Kataomoi. Meaning, unrequited love.

"What a match for today's genre. A broken day with a heartbreak song" she said and hummed the song

"Y/n" someone said and she turned her back and saw Obanai, "Obanai, are you okay? I'm sorry if—" she was stopped when Obanai hugged her

The numbness of hers disappeared and little by little, tears flow down. "Obanai" she sobs

"Y/n. Can't it be me?" Obanai ask that makes her skip a beat, "Obanai, you know it right? A day isn't enough to move on" she said and the guy breaks the hug

"Then, let me help you out. If you can't do it, I'll do it for you. Please" he begged

"O-okay, but please. Obanai, I don't wanna hurt you" Y/n said

"I'm fine, I can fall down but I can stand up again. You are so fragile that need someone to pick you up so you can stand" Obanai said as he kiss Y/n's forehead

"I'll wait but while waiting, I'll do something so waiting won't be that long" he said and smiled
