Praying

Religion is freedom
I chose to pray to whoever will listen
Twinkling stars of desire in the sky
Droplets of fire sprinkled in night

I pray to be heard
I pray to answered
I pray to be healed
I pray for my heart to find peace

There's a balance to life
Right is nothing without wrong
Happiness is worthless without sadness
I wish to find my balance at the bottom of a river

Each night I find silence
Directly where I left it that morning
After a restless slumber
Tossing and turning to the sound of silence

I watch the sun rise each morning
Sometimes I pray it's a God who's come to save me
Sometimes I know that religion is foolish
But I can't stop my hands from writing letters to the stars
Asking for forgiveness of all the things I've done
