Fire in the cold

You built a fire in the cold
I watch the smoke fill my world
To the bone I was chilled
But the warmth on my skin kept me from complaint

You laid me down in a bed of mist
Watched my face grow red and flustered
I couldn't breathe for you stole my breath
You stole my wrists above my head

Though cold I may be
For all I was was a burning pile
You saw me like the fire you lit
Vowed never to let the wind put me out

You built a fire in the cold
Laughed as my body froze and shook
You removed me of my armour and left me feeling helpless
But even so, you never let harm come to my bones
