when it rains it pours

Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve what has been done
Sometimes I ponder if I'm the reason my hands are against me
Sometimes I think I must be a ghost if I am to endure such punishment
Sometimes I know it's no fault of mine

Cursed from birth
Damned to the cruel
Sold to the devil for cheap cash
And burdened with carrying the weight of the world

My mother always said when I was down beneath the ground
When it rains it pours
Never a note to shine through the other side
Just a reminder that tragedy never travels alone

I once thought it cruelty to say such a thing
Now I am aware it is merely reality
But when the rain stops and pain fades away
I flip on some rose coloured glasses and bask in the high life

When it rains it pours
Just get an umbrella
