I answered hurriedly after seeing it was Tokoyami and held it against my ear while putting on my brown boots. "Um sorry Tokoyami I'm almost there, just heading out the door!-"

Realising I forgot my belt, I rushed back in. My hairtie was around my wrist to tie it up later, the retrieved belt in one hand and opened the door with another. Luckily the hotel door locks automatically after closing.

My sleeping in just showed how tired I was yesterday when I usually wake up at 5 everyday.

"I'm in the dining hall, we must eat breakfast before Hawks comes to pick us up."

"Yup I'm in the elevator, I'm coming down in a few, I'll lose connection, so um bye!" I said as I pressed the elevator button. I mean who doesn't lie about something like that.

He just finished the word bye and I cut the call putting the phone in my utility belt.

I tied my hair in the lift. It was 7:45 and I would barely have time to finish my breakfast before 8.

Tokoyami was done with his last bite as I entered the restaurant. He was in his hero costume too.

I quickly filled my plate with some eggs and toast along with a glass of orange juice. I rushed to the table and sat, apologizing and rushing with the food as he just nodded with a no problem. He waited politely for me to finish, arms folded, gradually getting more anxious about being late as time passed.

I only finished half the food when we hurried out of the building with one minute left. As soon as we stepped out breathing heavily, Hawks flew down with Horus and Parawave trailing behind him as usual.

"Right on time, nice. Then let's get started for today!" Hawks said with his usual smile.

I breathed out flames and replenished them on my costume. I flew up and followed him as he flashed away. He didn't speed up and took his time while observing his surroundings but we were still at a relatively faster pace than the others on the ground below.

"So how was your first day Pyro?" Hawks asked still looking straight ahead.

"Eye opening I guess, real hero work is much different than training. And it's tiring too but I will keep working hard, I will catch up"

"Oh yes, you were so tired you overslept today and almost got late huh" he smirked back at me.

My eyes widened " what, ho- the keychain! Was that to spy on me or was it to catch the person who followed me?!" I asked narrowing my eyes.

"I just happened to hear you saying you were heading out the door when you were still in the room" he shrugged

My eyes widened once again as I realised I had also changed in the room, I didn't know if his quirk allowed him to see anything. As if he read my mind, " No! I cannot see anything through my feathers Pyro, I'm not a creep, at least I can't remotely see as long as the feather's covered." He said looking away.

I sighed in relief and noting to never let the feather out even if there was no need to. And thankfully I had always kept the feather in my bag till now.

He was looking away from me, was he shy while saying that? That's almost cute... or he was worried about legal consequences.

All the while we were speaking he had sent a bunch of feathers to pick a stray dog out of a car's way and some to stop a kid following a ball onto the road. He also handed the ball back to the kid that went under a moving truck.

Just then I heard a scream calling out to a thief who stole a lady's wallet. I speeded towards the thief and sent my flames to stop him, but before I could do that Hawks' feathers pulled the thief up in the air and stole the purse from him, handing it back to the lady who exclaimed in surprise, "Hawks! Um.. thank you so much for getting my purse back" she bowing down.
