JULIA'S POV

I got up, feeling a slight headache straight in my forehead. I opened the drawer of my night stand, grabbing a pill. I lifted my head up, shoving it in my mouth. I kept my eyes on the ceiling for a few second before getting up and heading to the bathroom to take a morning shower. I turned the cold water on and wet my hair before using any products. I washed and conditioned my hair, doing usual shower things. After I was done, I quickly hopped out and started my usual morning routine. I dried my hair a little with the towel, brushed my teeth and exfoliated. After leaning on the sink for a few minutes, forgetting what's next. I quickly pulled myself back up and dried my hair. I rushed to my wardrobe and changed to something comfortable. And by that I mean, a pair of sweatpants and a crop top. I wanted to make breakfast for my little sister Lia, my daily dose of happiness.

I went to her room first, slowly opening the door. She was still sleeping. She looked so peaceful, so innocent. It's sad what life such a pure soul had to live through. I'm willing to do whatever it takes as long as it leads to her being happy.

I gently shook her shoulder and called her name, waking her up, "good morning" her soft voice spoke "good morning Lia, get ready and meet me downstairs" I told her as I placed a kiss on her forehead and headed out, making my way downstairs to cook breakfast for her. She really loved pancakes so as an older sister, prioritizing her happiness and trying my best to give her a good childhood, something I used to wish I had. I decided to make her favorite breakfast. Putting a smile on her face enlightened my heart. She was my source of happiness, the only reason one day I kept going and trying harder.

Siblings know how to push each other's buttons, but they also know how to mend things faster than anyone. She genuinely makes me happy. I stood in the kitchen for thirty minutes, trying to do my best. I wasn't really a good cook but I would try anything for my little sister.

I watched her walk into the kitchen, running towards me, opening her arms for a warm hug. I took a knee and opened my arms too, welcoming the hug she had intentions of giving me. I hugged her tight as I picked her up and sat her down on the chair, placing a plate full of pancakes for her and mumbled "Have a great meal" as I ran my hand through her soft hair with a smile on my face, admiring the biggest blessing in my life. I didn't eat. We didn't have much money to feed two people and she was far more important.

I had work to do today, it was an important day. This either could go perfectly right or terribly wrong. Either way I needed my best friend to take care of my little sister while I'm gone. I told Lia to be ready in ten minutes right after she finished her breakfast. She rushed out of the kitchen, back to her room. I watched her in awe and took her plate off the counter, washing it while mumbling a few songs. When she was all packed, I took her to my best friend's house. I softly placed my palm on her cheek and gave her a kiss on her cheek, promising I would be back. I watched Lia's smile grow softly at me and went in the house, running to my friend. I let out a sigh out of concern then got on my way back home with the intention of getting ready, thinking about the mission for today. I always had a thing for thinking things through, how terrible could it go and what would it take for me to get out of it. And right after snapping out of it, I noticed that I had already arrived home.

My mission for today was to kill a man, he was tall, muscular, knew how to dress for sure, his dark brown eyes bore holes everywhere they landed. He had a pleasing appearance, it sucks that people won't get to see it after tonight, light brown messy-styled hair and was very dominant. I always like to wonder stuff about the people I got to kill, what their life like, what's their darkest secrets but I shook these thoughts off going back to the papers I was holding. I went to the sofa and sat down, thinking about this mission, I was lost into my thoughts once again for the one hundredth fucking time today.
