Also, super sorry if this isn't the best. I've never written a shy reader before so bare with me.

You rushed nervously to the lunch table at the very back, it was the first day back at school and the moment you step foot in the building you were already prepared for break times and school to end. You moved around a lot when you were younger so making friends wasn't on your mind, but until now your parents decided to stay at Herkleston.

You sat down in the back sighing seeing the other kids socialize, and there being you sitting all alone eating your lunch. Your parents thought you'd grow out of it and that you just needed time to learn to make friends.

When you were done eating, you got out a book to read to pass the time. You began reading your book as the other kids talked to each other.

"Hello"

You almost dropped your book due to being startled. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I'm Isabella, are you new to this school?"Isabella asked, "...(y/n)..."

"What was that? Sorry I couldn't hear you"

"(Y/N)..."

You said a little louder so she could hear you, you saw her hanging around the library a few times when you went there. She would do book reports for kids that didn't wanna read, some kids called her 'Stacks', but you didn't wanna say because you thought she would think you were stalking her.

"What book are you reading? Oh is that the book (F/B)? I love that book!"Stacks said, "Uh huh..."You nodded. "(B/C) is my favourite! Who's your favourite character in the book?"Stacks asked, you did a surprised expression that she was willing to have a conversation with you. "I-I like (B/C) too..."You stuttered holding your book up to your chest blushing a little. The only reason why you liked (B/C) was because (she/he) reminded you so much of Isabella.

You wished to be better at talking to people like Stacks was, you and Stacks started talking about the book as other kids ate and chatted with their friends. You even got to know more about Stacks, and Stacks got to know more about you. You and Stacks found out you both were on the same page of your book, so the two of you decided to finish the book together.

But then, the bell rang for class to start again. "Oh, that must be the bell, hey I saw you in my class. Wanna walk to class together?"Isabella asked, you nodded now remembering her in your class.

You walked back to class with Stacks, fiddling with your fingers a little due to how nervous you were getting. The other times you saw her you thought she looked so cute, and now that you can meet her in person you were starting to think you thought correct about her. "Hey, (Y/N) after school you wanna go to the library with me? We can find you some new books since you finished reading all of yours already"Stacks offered.

Your face turned read and you nodded at the offer. "Hey, (Y/N) don't feel shy. I understand first days can be a little overwhelming, but thats okay I can help you throught it"Isabella said, "You will?"You asked. Stacks nodded and opened the class door for you.

After school, you and Stacks walked to the library together for some books. "What kind of books are you into (Y/N)?"Isabella asked, you told Stacks the type of books you liked and let Stacks help you find the book you preffered. "T-Thanks..."You said waiting in line with Stacks, "No problem, (Y/N)!"Isabella smiled.

Time Skip

It had now been a few months since you met Stacks, and you were starting to open up to her a lot more. Heck, your parents were happy you actually made a friend, well, Stacks wasn't gonna be your friend for long or atleast thats what you think.

You were thinking of asking her to be your girlfriend, heck you were even planning on getting a book about how to tell someone to like them, from the library. "Hope this goes good..."You said in your head, you looked through the libary aisles and saw the perfect book on how to tell someone how you feel about them. But when you tried to grab the book someone else was also trying to get it as well.

"Stacks?"

"(Y/N)?"

You saw that the person needing the book as well was Isabella. Wait, did this mean she likes someone else? You tried not to show the saddness and tried to keep yourself from looking sad, but Isabella looked like she felt the same thing.

"Oh did you need this book?"You both said at the same time.

"I-Its fine, you can have it...It turns out the person I wanted to ask out liked someone else.."You sighed, "Uh...N-no...Its okay, I don't need it anymore to, I figured out the same thing..."Stacks said getting her hands off the book. "H-hey, you wanna talk about it?"Stacks asked you, you nodded and let her walk you to her hideout.

Time Skip

When you were done telling Stacks your sadness, Isabella patted your back in comfort. "It's fine, and also who was the person you had a crush on?"Isabella asked, "I-It was you...I know saying it is pointless since you were getting that book to ask out someone else...It's fine if you just wanna be friends I understand..."You sighed, even though you thought Stacks didn't like you back it felt good to say you loved her even though those words weren't gonna come from her.

"Wait, you were getting that book to ask out me? (Y/N), I wasn't getting the book to ask out someone else I was getting it to ask out you!"Stacks said. Your sadness disappeared hearing Stacks say that, Isabella wasn't getting that book to ask out someone else, she was getting it to ask out you. You smiled at Stacks then kissed her cheek softly knowing you didn't need a book to tell if she loved you.
