You and Maya made the stones skip in the river waiting for the school bus to come pick you and Mayas class up from a field trip. Maya was a girl that used to be friends with Xavier when he invaded the creek but when he wasn't around she would be with you. Turns out she doesn't want to mistreat the other kids and she doesn't wanna lose or friends or the 'popularity' she got because she'll get put in the maze and bullied.

You never would have guessed you'd befriend anyone from the other side besides Raj or Shawn. But there you were, listening to Mayas cries of regret after the war. One of the best parts of that day was that you and Maya could finally say how you actually thought of Xavier. You never knew Mayas laugh was so loveable.

And when Capture the flag was still going on you and Xavier used to fight heads when Maya wasn't around.

"You know, Xavier. Your 'servants' of the creek are still unhappy no matter how much candy you give them and dress them up in those foolish outfits, a real king would know if others are unhappy but you chose to ignore it and think you're an actually good king. Your stupidity makes me laugh".

"Shut up! I'm a good king and you know it, and they are happy! I give them candy, a bounce house, what more do I need to do to prove it?! They're happy and you know it! This is my creek, learn how to treat royalty".

"Oh fuck you, do these creek kids look happy with you ruling? You're just a wannabe king that lies to yourself all the time! This creek is better off without your stupid ass ruling and you know that".

"One more word out of you and your ass will be in the maze..."

"We'll see, can't wait to see my side of the creek run you and your wannabe cool kid, BFF, Maya. Out this creek, you can go drown in your own pride for a living and always avoid the truth and act like a big baby. But now that changed, you helped her take steps in being a good person even though she probably would never want to go back to the creek again. But, during that process of helping her change you were developing feelings for Maya, you of course didn't want to of course. But you couldn't help yourself, you loved how much she had changed and you were surprised she wasn't faking it for Xavier or some shit. But you didn't know if she felt the same, your past 'sarcastic' insults seemed to have hit hard at her when you told her them when she got on your nerves because she did something mean Xavier told her too . Even thought you guys didn't interact much, you knew she was just a lonely kid that didn't have any friends. Until she meant Xavier.

The bus then came for you and Mayas class just when you and Maya couldn't find anymore rocks to throw. "(Y/N)! Maya! Quit the tomfoolery and get in the bus!"You guys teacher scolded as the other kids ran into the bus and into their seats. You and Maya rushed to the bus hoping not to get in trouble by your teacher for not getting on the bus back to school where your parents were now waiting for you guys.

As you and Maya were running to the bus, you got slowed down a little by a sudden bad cough you were getting. "Hey, (Y/N) you okay?"Maya asked seeing if you were alright noticing your sudden cough. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine..."You lied brushing off your cough, "Maya! (Y/N)!"The teacher shouted you guys conversation met its end as you two rushed to the bus.

Time Skip

Maya scurried through her bathroom for a forehead thermometer for you. Maya had called you on the phone earlier to have a sleepover but your cough came back and Maya decided to see if you were sick, "I know it's here somewhere..."Maya mumbled still looking around. "Maya, it's fine...It's just a cough that'll go away..."You said at least trying to give a convincing impression, luckily Maya brought it and stopped looking for the forehead thermometer.

Later on Mayas brother said it was getting late and you two needed to head to bed. While Maya was asleep you tried to keep your cough down so you wouldn't wake her. You tried to get more of the blanket on you successfully not hogging it from Maya. You suddenly began to feel colder you thought you just needed the blanket to cover you more but unfortunately you still felt cold. This'll be a cold night.

The next day

You woke up later on in Mayas bedroom with nothing to really say cause Maya woke up before you. You got up trying to find her only to see that she was waiting for breakfast to be done you wondered why she didn't wake you up. Even though you weren't really hungry and had a loss of appetite you didn't want Maya to worry and you thought if you didn't eat you'd be hungry later so you sat down next to Maya and ate the breakfast with her.

Time Skip

After sometime, you and Maya decided to hang out at the nearby park. The wind was blowing regularly, the sun was shiny everything was perfect, for now. You thought it was a perfect scene to tell Maya how you felt it was eating you alive for so long. Before you could speak, Maya said something, "Hey, (Y/N) is it cool if I ask you for advice...". You decided to let Maya speak and say what she needed, "Of course what is it?"You asked.

"Well...There's this certain someone...I uh..."Maya began, you felt something come up your throat but you did everything you could to keep it down.

"Y-You...What?"You asked struggling to talk, "There's someone I like and I wanna tell them how I feel..."Maya sighed, that sentence made your stomach twist and your throat have a lump.

"She loves someone else..."

You thought to yourself not knowing if you should give Maya the advice or just lie and say you'll think about it. But before your decision was sorted out, you violently coughed covering your mouth. "(Y/N)? Are you okay?"Maya asked, "Y-Yeah, I'm-"You lied coughing still and whatever was coming up your throat coming out of you.

What was coming up your throat previously was some (F/Fl) that was getting mixed with a little bit of blood.

Mayas POV: "(Y/N)!"I called out in panic trying not to step on the flowers or blood she was vomiting out. How did this happen to them?! They said she was fine!

"(Y/N)!"I heard someone familiar calling out and running toward us. Oh no...It was (Y/N)s other friends from the creek Kelsey and Craig...

"What did you do to her?!"Craig questioned trying to help (Y/N). Before I could speak Kelsey gave me a glare that made me shut up quickly. "Let me guess, Xavier made you hurt her?!"Kelsey snapped, "What?! No! I would never hurt her-"I tried to explain but Kelsey interrupted me, "Look Maya, I don't get it! If Xavier gave you poison you'd take it! If Xavier told you to kill someone you'd do it! You're just a silly and brainless girl letting silly and brainless boys walk all over you!"Kelsey snapped.

I took one last look at (Y/N) and with that, I was running home almost in tears.

Time Skip

I rushed to the hospital (Y/N) was at, after I ran off in fear I looked up why (Y/N) was vomiting out those flowers. They had Hanahaki...And I had to cure them by returning the feelings she had for me. When I said that I needed advice on confessing to someone, it was (Y/N)...Not someone else I only said someone because I didn't want (Y/N) to know I loved them yet...I'm sorry, (Y/N).

I took a deep breath and knocked on (Y/N)s hospital room door, they said I could come in and I did. "Hey, (Y/N)..."I sighed, she gave me a wave along with a kind smile I understood why she didn't wish to speak. "Look, I'll get to the point...(Y/N) when I was asking for advice on confessing to someone that someone was you, the only reason I said 'someone' is because I wasn't ready on confessing to you yet..."I said.

(Y/N) stayed silent for what felt like years, "I understand if you don't like me anymore and-"I began but (Y/N) held onto my hand and smiled. "You were talking about me?"(Y/N) began, "Of course, so if I promise to always protect you and love you, will you let me be your girlfriend?"I smiled, "Of course, don't wanna be anywhere without you...".
