The police where sending out all different search party's to look for John B. We weren't allowed to move from our seats. It felt like we were sat in there for ages.
Heavy rain started to hit the tent that we sat in. Thunder and lightning started to kick in too causing me to snuggle into JJ, because of my fear of storms. He put his arm around me to comfort me.
Suddenly we heard shouting. Loads of people came running out of the tent and we could hear cop sirens.
"Officer what's happening?" I asked.
She ignored me.
"Officer?" I asked again.
I was ignored.

We were sat in silence when Shoupe walked in with two cops behind him making us all stand.
"Did you find him?" Pope asked.
Shoupe shook his head. "No"
"So, they got away?" Kie asked.
He gulped before he answered.
"We, uh... we lost them. I'm sorry" Shoupe said.
My stomach sank as I grabbed JJ's hand.
"You lost them?" I spoke up.
"What do you mean you lost them? Like, they're gone? What are you talking about?" Pope asked.
"They took an open boat, to a tropical depression, Pope" Shoupe said.
"So, they're dead?" Kie asked.
Shoupe paused.
"We don't know"
My heart sank as tears began to well in my eyes.
"You drove them drove them straight through the storm, man! Are you kidding me? Come here!" JJ let go of my hand and launched himself at Shoupe.
"JJ, stop!" I yelled pulling him back.
"I'm gonna kill you, you bastard!" JJ yelled.
A police officer held him back. Pulling him away.
"Get off of him!" I yelled.
"You killed him!" JJ shouted.
"He didn't kill anyone and you know it!" Pope said in Shoupe's face.
"We're still looking for him, all right?" Shoupe said.
The officer shoved JJ to me when he calmed down. I held JJ close as he sobbed in my arms. I began to cry too.

I looked up and saw Pope and Kie's parents come running in.
Kie ran to her mom and cried in her arms, Pope running to his parents and doing the same.

Me and JJ were left alone, hugging.
I've got you" I said to JJ.
The Heyward family pulled apart and held there arms out for us.
"Come here" Heyward smiled.
I went to Heyward and sobbed into his side.
"It's okay" he hugged me.
I turned to Kie and hugged her when she pulled away from her parents.
I can't believe they were actually gone. John B had been my best friend since 4th grade. We were inseparable.
I had only just started my new friendship with Sarah, and it was awful that it had to end this way.
I just can't believe they're really gone.
