Two Years After the Draft

Asher is going to kick my ass.

I just had to curl my hair and look all cute for our dinner. I mean I've been dating Asher for three years now and I decide now to look extra hot. Well, in my defense, he did tell me to dress formal. I smooth out my dress and adjust the spaghetti straps of it. I decided on a sparkly gold dress that has a deep v neckline and an open back. I'm wearing a nude Louboutin heels and a beige trench coat and no, Asher did not buy me my first pair of Louboutin's. I did. I made sure of it no matter how hard he bitched and moaned. I get paid pretty well from my job working for a fashion company here in New York City. Asher has stayed with the Knicks since he got drafted two years ago.

His teammates are awesome and most importantly all the girls plus Jacob and now Robbie are close by. Minus Lacey, Braden, Jeremy, and Trey. Trey and Jeremy are still in Philadelphia with the Sixers while Lacey and Braden are in Chicago. Raelynn is running her dad's company, Tori is working as a physical therapist, Julie is working in the hotel business, and Jacob is some type of scientist person. Fuck if I know what that kid does. As for Robbie, he got traded by the LA Clippers to the Knicks. Let's just say, it's been tough for him. And of course Rae.

"Carter!" Asher's loud voice calls throughout our apartment. I jump at his tone grabbing my clutch from the bed. I hear just footsteps coming towards the door as I check and make sure I have everything in my clutch.

"I'm sorry, Babe. I'm coming," I say back to him as I head towards the door. He is standing in the doorway his five o'clock shadow looks damn good on him as he stands in front of me in an all black suit. His brown hair is still a good length just shorter than he had it in college but just as messy. He finished off his arm sleeve in my sophomore year and it looks absolutely stunning on him. It goes all the way from his shoulder to the top of his hand. I chose his hand tattoo of a rose. As for me, well the three tattoos I still have is my stick and poke, Asher's jersey number, and the angel.

"Stunning, as usual," he says with a smirk that doesn't meet his eyes. I furrow my eyebrows at him with narrow eyes. Something is up. After dating someone for as long as we have you can tell when something it's wrong. I frown setting a hand on his cheek.

"What's wrong?" I ask him as he shoves his hands in his pockets. He shakes his head at me walking up to me.

"Nothing, teams just stressing me out more than usual," he says casually. I frown at his comment. The media has been pretty tough recently, especially on Robbie. Rob has not caught a break since he got traded here.

"Rob?" I ask him as he plants his hands on my hips pulling me into him. He looks at me with his chocolate puppy dog eyes and my heart hurts. He just looks so stressed and I hate it.

"Let's not worry about that tonight. Rob and I will be fine," he says pressing a kiss to my forehead. I frown at him but don't push it. This is our night and if he says I shouldn't worry, I believe him. But, that doesn't mean I won't worry about it tomorrow.
