Feralocean ([Y/N])

You were a high risk scuba diver. High risk meaning that there was a LOT of sharks in the area. This area, was the highest risk of all. The deadly oceans. You wanted to learn it's mysteries. Find out what was so 'deadly' about it. You stopped the boat. You'd sailed out on your own. Nobody would bring you. Of course they wouldn't. This was practically suicide. Well, YOLO. You set your swim gear up and dove in.

You sank deeper in for now, looking around the blue waters. Schools off fish swam around you, not seeing you as a threat. You really weren't. You were just a curious human. Curiosity kills. You watched the schooling fish swim about, in some sort of traffic as you sank deeper, deeper, and deeper yet. It got darker, the sun couldn't permeate this far. You didn't mind. Everything was so calm.. so relaxed. Then the fish scattered. Oh crap. You scanned the waters. There was a predator near by. She pulled out a specially designed magnet, meant for scaring off sharks. It.. didn't look like a shark. You weren't sure what the mass was, all you could see in the distance was a dark blue shape, with what looked like glowing blue slits looking at you. You were mesmerized, trying to figure out what it was. Then it shot forward.

It was some sort of skeleton, it looked like it wanted to kill you. You tried to move out of it's way, but it was faster than you and shoved you down. Wait what? You turned in the water to see a Great White slam into it. It snarled, claws digging into the Sharks skin. You wanted to keep watching, but where there was one, there were usually more. Twisting around again, you repelled the other with your magnet just as it got close enough to bite. You skeleton thing yelled and you looked up. The second shark went after him instead, and chomped on his tail. Oh no you don't! You swam up quickly, repelling the shark again. The first also darted away. The skeleton growled as you both fended for your lives against the hungry animals. Finally he took your hand and swam downwards, while you kept the sharks off the both of you. They then stopped following all together.

"They're gone.." You commented. The skeleton didn't slow down or stop. "What are you?" He growled. Ok then. Rude. "Where are you taking me?"
"quiet human. everyone's asleep." Who was everyone? He pulled you into an underwater cave system. When you came out the other side.. it was a city. He put a finger to his mouth, feeling the need to shush you again. He led you to a house, opening the door and pushing you inside. He followed after you. "get some sleep. i'll answer your questions tomorrow." He started to swim up to the top floor. "Wait, I don't have enough oxygen in my tank!" He paused and sighed, swimming back down. He was doing something to my back. "W-what?"
"there. now you won't drown." He swam away. What just happened?

"HOLY NEPTUNE! IS THAT A HUMAN?!" Loud. You groaned. "no. that's our couch." You opened your eyes to see the skeleton from last night and a new, taller, skeleton. "OH.." Poor thing deflated. "what's that on the couch?" You grinned. Really man? "HOLY NEPTUNE!! IS.. IS THAT A HUMAN..?"
"Why yes I am." You replied and his sockets light up. "HOLY NEPTUNE!!! IT'S SO NICE TO MEET YOU, HUMAN! I'M THE GREAT PAPYRUS AND THIS IS MY LAZY BROTHER SANS!"
"I'm [Y/N]. Nice to meet you."
"bro you should make her your world famous tuna."
"YOU'RE RIGHT BROTHER! I'LL GO DO THAT!" Papyrus swam off, probably to the kitchen. "so [Y/N].. ya had questions?"

"What are you? What is this place?" You asked immediately. Sans swam over and sank down onto the couch next to you. "i'm a skeleton obviously. this place is the Underwater. A kingdom of seamonsters."
"Seamonsters? You're a.. you're a seamonster?" He didn't reply. "i am whatever you think i am."
"Is that why you have a tail- Oh my gosh is your tail ok?!" You recalled one of the sharks had gotten it. He chuckled. "it's fine. wasn't the first time i fought a shark, won't be the last." He shrugged. "Oh.. that's good.. may I?"
"may you?" He asked only for you to take his hand. You examined the claws, bent the joints, explored and examined his hand. He was blushing. "..."
"So interesting.."
"FOODS READY!!"
"ahem.. uh.. don't wanna leave him waiting."
"Right, right. Ok." You followed the skeletons lead.

You've been with the skeletons for a few weeks now. You realized that your tank ran out of oxygen long ago yet you could still breath. Sans said it was the runes he drew on your back.. The more you watched them, the more you realized they weren't like the other monsters. You've never seen either use magic. Sans always left nightly, after telling Papyrus a bedtime story. One night you decided to listen in. It was a story about experiments escaping into the ocean only to get sunk. Thinking about it.. Sans swam down. "You're them.. aren't you. The experiments in the story." He smiled sadly. "would you think of me differently if i said i was?" You shook your head. "Why would I? You're a survivor, Sans." He chuckled. "see ya in the morning, [Y/N]." He left for the night.

The next day while Papyrus was training with Undyne, Sans told you his story. He was a human animal hybrid, created with the DNA of a human male, and various canine DNA. He barely remembered his time in the lab, all he did remember was hurting, darkness, and cold. He remembered Gaster, the man who saved the brothers, taking him to the rocking place. That's what he called it. Then he remembered falling into the water, the panic he felt. Gaster had a solution for that too. The runes. He explained that Gaster had raised them both until he was 6, then went away. He didn't know where. "that's my story. from then on, it was just me and pap."
"And.. all that was 100 years ago?" He nodded. "Oh Sans.." You hugged the hybrid. He tensed and blushed. You were going to be the death of him. "I'm sorry you had to go through that.. is that why you go out at night? The animal DNA?" He nodded again. "y-yeah.. uh.. my instincts.."
"You ok? You're stuttering." You pressed the back of your hand to his foreskull. "Doesn't feel hot.."
"i'm ok! really!" He assured. "If you say so. Why are you so blue? Are you.. blushing?" He blushed more. "no!" You laughed. "You are! That's adorable-" You blushed at your words. He took his turn laughing. "karma."
"Sh-shut up!" You blushed more.

You woke up to Sans about to shake you awake. "o-oh.. hey.. i wanted to show ya something.." You quirked a brow. "Ok?"
He led you out and to the exit of the kingdom. "Where are we going?"
"the reef. i noticed you watching the fish before the attack and figured you might appreciate it." Your eyes widened. "Yes please!" So he led you to the reef. You watched the fish go about their lives when you got there. It was so beautiful. So colorful. A once in a lifetime opportunity. Sans simply held on to you, watching you watch the fish. He was this every night. The sight to behold to him, was you. This was.. a once in a lifetime opportunity. "[Y/N].." You hummed, looking to the skeleton. He took his opportunity. His teeth pressed against your lips. Shock coursed through you. Then you melted into it. Human, skeleton, hybrid, experiment? It didn't matter what he was, right then and there, you realized you loved him.
