Day 4

Jen's POV

Yesterday was mayhem, and I feel awful for everything that happened. After Josh left with his injury, Nick stayed and apologised. I made him leave a little later, knowing it wouldn't be right for him to stay over.

This morning I dragged myself out of bed and put on a plain white shirt and jeans. I couldn't be bothered to do anything more because things didn't feel right today.

Today I had planned to see a friend instead of hanging out with any romantic-interests, it was getting too much. Alex is his name, he was really nice and had been my friend like my whole life. I had planned to see him after all these years.

I grabbed a handbag, and didn't bother changing anything. Alex didn't care about how I looked, in fact, he prefered if I didn't dress up. Before Josh, Alex was the only person I could go to when I had secrets. He trusted me, too.

I got in my car and met up with him at a nearby pub. I walked in and immediately saw him smirking at me. But for a moment, I couldn't be sure it was him. He looked so...different. Hard to admit, but extremely handsome. Better looking than when I saw him last. He was very fit, too. Messy dirty blonde hair and green eyes. He had a major jawline and his toned muscles were obvious through the white shirt. I couldn't help it. He was a shock. But I focused on looking him in the eyes as he watched me walk over. We embraced.

"Alex!" I sighed into his chest.

"Jennifer Lawrence. It's been forever. Seems like you're such a big celebrity now." He said in a deep, british accent.

"Not too big for you." I said, smiling.

"Good. I hope that never changes." He huffed, kissing my head. I felt so comfortable in his arms, but I don't know why. I had never felt this way around Alex, we haven't seen each other for so long- it's normal, right?

"Two beers." Alex didn't let go of me as he ordered. I laughed to myself as the beers were placed in front of us.

"The only place where bartenders don't give a damn Jennifer Lawrence is standing right in front of them." Alex held up his glass and I held it up also, grinning.

"Living the life." I winked, taking a long drink of the beer.

"How is life?" He asked.

"It's strange." I shrugged.

"That's all you got?" Alex raised an eyebrow, smirking.

"It's the only way I can explain." I replied simply.

"Well, how about I ask you something easier. Did you miss me?" He sips his beer.

"Of course, Alex. How could I not?"

"I didn't mean it like that." He said, frowning slightly. I didn't know whether to question him or not, because at this point I was extremely confused.

"Jen, I meant it like...have you thought about me much?" Alex leaned against the table.

"Everyday." I said.

"No, listen to me." He ran a hand through his hair.

"Jen, did you ever think we could've been something? A couple, maybe?" He blurts out, seemingly flustered.

"Wow. We haven't seen each other in years and that's what's on your mind? You know what, I'm going to leave." I said, reaching for my handbag. Alex put a hand on my shoulder, holding me there.

"Jennifer. Don't go. Please, stay with me." He said in such a quiet, sincere voice, it was impossible to leave him. I put my handbag down and picked up my beer.
