"are...are you okay?" jacob asked as chanhee entered the choir room, the younger boy nodding as he tightened his mask and placed his things on the floor. while chanhee was preoccupied, jacob looked towards sangyeon, mouthing 'is he okay' to which sangyeon shrugged to in reply.

jacob cleared his throat, placing a gentle hand on chanhee's head which made the boy freeze in his spot. "um, if you aren't feeling well-"

"i'm fine jacob. stop worrying about me," chanhee said, moving away from him and instinctively reaching up towards the red rose pin that he always incorporated into his outfits (mainly on his jackets).

while jacob backed away, unwilling to confront someone he barely talked to outside of the duties of being a vice president to the choir, sangyeon tentatively moved towards him, leaning against the wall. "did something happen between you and younghoon?" he whispered, chanhee immediately looking down at the floor and refusing to meet his eyes. "or was it with changmin?" at the mention of his name, chanhee tensed up immediately.

he didn't even want to think about changmin seeing as how the day after his little incident with younghoon, the boy (and his best friend kevin) pushed him away and ignored him. and when he had made an attempt to contact the dancer, he was met with radio silence.

days had passed and truthfully, chanhee had stopped counting, his days slowly falling back into a lull once more with the entirety of his schedule comprising of nothing but studying to drown out the aching loneliness he had begun feeling.

without younghoon, chanhee came back to silences, no longer having the blessing of listening to random theatre lines at 3am while without changmin, he didn't have anyone to give him warmth and affection that was given through kind words and sweet actions.

karma. he thought. it's what i deserve.

"i wouldn't say you deserve bad karma though chanhee," jacob uttered, suddenly appearing in front of chanhee, the youngest out of the trio jumping back slightly at the sudden voice. "sorry! you were speaking out loud and sangyeon wasn't saying a word so-"

"i was letting him have his inner monologue," sangyeon said matter-of-factly, chuckling slightly to himself at how comically large chanhee's eyes had become at the fact that he had said some thoughts out loud. "so to answer my question, it was both of them huh?"

chanhee tried his best to glare at sangyeon, to try and perhaps dissuade him from pursuing the topic any further but the boy didn't budge, instead looking quickly at the clock. "we have about 10 minutes before the members come in so if you want to talk about it, you can chanhee."
