It was hours until I heard cars pull up.
“ANNIKA." I heard Matvey's voice. He ran over to me, my head was still on Waylan's chest.

“Waylan." Everyone ran over. Luka came beside me.

“I tried to save him but." Luka tried pulling me off.

“NO stop." Broke down again. Alexi came beside me.

“Annika, he's gone." I heard his voice crack.

“No, he's not." Luka grabbed my arms, peeling me off of Waylan.

“STOP." I tried kicking but he held me tight.

“It's okay, let it out." I tried hitting him but he wouldn't budge. I fell down on the ground too weak to stand up.

My three brothers stared at the body. Matvey was over by Russo.

“They're gone." Luka wrapped his arms around me as I cried again.

---
I was laying in my bed too tired to cry. After we came back we told Karina, she tried her best to hold it in but she couldn't. It was early in the morning when the news of Waylan's death traveled through the building. The place has been quiet, everyone was mourning. I heard the door open then the bed dipped.

“It's my fault." I heard Matvey say. Sitting up I looked at him.

“I shouldn't have killed them. I shouldn't have brought you into the mafia. They would still be alive." I pushed myself over to him.

“He didn't want me to save him. He wanted to be with her in peace." I said. He looked over at me.

"They're up there looking down at us." I laid my head on his shoulder.

"Probably laughing." We laughed.

“Okay, come on you have to go get ready." He kissed me on the forehead and walked out. Sitting there for a few minutes I got up and went to Luka's room. Going in he wasn't there. His suit jacket was on the chair. Sighing, I decided to wait for him. Walking to his chair I pulled it out to sit but the jacket fell off. Picking it up, a box that fell out of the pocket.

Picking up the box I stared at it. The door opened.

“Anni. I didn't know you were here. Everything is okay." I got up with the box in my hand.

“Oh." He cleared his throat.

“I was going today but I thought because of what happened I should wait another few months." He said while looking at the box.

“Yes." I looked at him.

“What.”

"Yes, I'll marry you." He smiled.

"Wait, I made a really good speech. Let me at least do this properly. He took the box from my hand. He got down on one knee. Opening the box was a beautiful ring, it had a diamond-shaped crystal with diamonds going around the ring.

"Annika Avery Volkov. I know we haven't known each other for a long time. Normally, normal people would take a year or more to get married but we are not normal people. I have always loved you, you make me feel like I'm worth something. I want to grow old with you, have children and we will be one of those deranged families that run around burning buildings. So Annika Avery Volkov will you do me the honor and be my wife, my baby momma and, my best friend for the rest of our lives?" He smiled.

"Yes." I smiled at him. He put the ring on my finger then got up kissing me.

"As much as I want to take you over the bed, we have somewhere to be soon, so I suggest you get your pretty ass over to Karina." He said against the lips.

“Okay." I kissed him again then walked out of the room.

---
I was in Karina's room getting dressed for the party and ceremony. I was wearing an off-the-shoulder red dress with a split.

"You okay?" I asked her. She nodded.

“I already cried. I ran out of tears." She laughed, making me smile.

“I'm just happy that I got to tell him how I really felt." She played with the hem of her shirt.

“So what's going to happen now?" I sat down on the bed.

“I'm going to visit my family. I haven't seen them in years. I met Waylan at the age of twelve and we were best friends. I ran off with him and lived here ever since. Then we fell in love for three years and we knew each other for seven years. When you're in the mafia you have to come to the fact that your life might be taken from you tomorrow." She turned to me.

“I miss him.”

“Me too." I hugged her.

“Now let's not get our makeup messed up. Come on, they're waiting for us. They have a surprise for you." She squealed.

Coming out of the elevator, the guys were talking among themselves when they heard the ding.

“Wow, you look beautiful just like your mother. We have a surprise for you." Matvey held out his hand for me.

We walked back where there were five trucks lined up.

“I don't understand?" I tried to smile it off but ended up with a disappointed face. They got me fucking trucks for my birthday.

“Just wait." Niki came up next to me.

“It's going to be amazing," Lev said. Matvey signaled someone. I arrow with a fire on it shot through the air landing on the trucks. The trucks blazed up one by one.

“Gasoline trucks." I watched as the fire went up in the air.

“It's beautiful.” I gazed at the fire.

“It was Waylan's idea. He was the only one who witnessed how deranged you are." I scowled at Niki, he gave me a smirk and went back to gazing at the fire.

“There were once five, now there's four." Alexi started. Shaking our heads we laughed at him.

“What?” He asked obviously clueless about what he just said.

“It's sad how you can still make jokes even at a time like this," I said.

“It feels weird. Without him." Niki said.
“Yeah, his anger usually consumes the place now it feels empty." Lev frowned.

“I love you all,” I said to them.

"We love you too baby doll." He said while we all hugged.

“Okay, come on, your people are waiting for you boss,” Matvey said to me.

“I like the sound of that." I looped hands with Matvey. We walked into the ballroom.

“Ready princess.”

"Yes, and it's Queen now. I'm ready to be a Mafia Queen."
