¤ 3rd Point Of View ¤
It was a hectic day at the Atsuhira castle. Bells echoed through the halls along with multiple doctors' footsteps. It was finally the day- the day that Sana Atsuhira would deliver her first heir to the throne. It was a joyous day indeed, a day that the nearby villages celebrated and even the birds seemed to sing their praise.
The Emperor and Empress were great rulers of the people, making their rule as smooth and reasonable as possible. So of course, when news hit that their child would be born on such a beautiful day of June- the people were overjoyed. The castle had been gifted multiple baskets of fruit and vegetable, bakery and raw materials. Everyone wanted only the best for this baby and their future.
Though that specific day was joyous through the town and village streets, it could not be the same said for inside the castle. It really should have been though- those at the castle should have been even more happier than those outside. However, nobody had the courage nor bravery to let a smile grace their face after the baby had been born.
The baby turned out to be a beautiful baby girl, with eyes that shone as bright as the stars in the night sky- with the wonderful name of (Y/n) that matched her beauty. If only it was only the child's beauty that everyone could focus on that day- because then spirits would have been far higher than what they were now after finding out that the child was fated to die before their life even began.
Sana Atsuhira's cries echoes throughout the castle after the news had been bestowed upon her. Doctors and midwives surrounding her as she shakingly held her baby in her arms. The baby was born asleep you see, when one is born asleep without movement or a single cry and especially with such a soft rise in their chests- something was usually was wrong.
After a few checkups and opinions from multiple doctors, it was agreed upon that the child had a disease within her heart- one in which that made her heartbeat weak and her breathes light. With this sort of disease, there wasn't much people could do in this day and age to control it. The child would live around less than even 10 years- probably not even that long.
Yuta Atsuhira sat beside his wife with a devastated gaze directed at his newly born child. The Emperor had his royal advisor stood above his form, also looking quite devastated at the news of the child but that didn't stop him from doing his job and telling the Emperor what he already knew had to be done.
"You know you must kill her...it's what your father would have done." The man advised softly, sliding a small golden ripped chest onto the man's lap. This golden rimmed box contained a lethal dagger, the tip as sharp as a bee's sting and with a edge as deadly as could be. It was a blade that Yuta was all too familiar with.
This specific dagger had been in the Atsuhira's castle for generations, used by the Yuta himself once to kill his own father to obtain the title of Emperor. Before that his father used it on Yuta's older brother who had been born blind. The Atsuhira castle had a dark history of killing, only those close to the royals knew the truth about it all.
Yuta knew the moment he heard of the tragic knews that he would have to kill his child. The man never thought he would have to use dagger ever again- or rather he hoped he wouldn't because holding that dagger made him feel things he had never felt before. It wasn't going to be as easy as it was to kill his father and that was simply because he hated the man with the whole of his heart- in fact, the whole of Japan did.
But this time, he would have to kill someone he didn't hate- someone he loved. A little baby that had yet to see the wonders of life. Not only was he dreading to kill the pure soul- he was dreading to see his wife's face after the deed had been done.
Sana, the empress was no stranger to the history that lay hidden within the castle walls. She knew what her husband was about to do and that only made her sob harder. But the lady also knew that this child of hers would only grow up to feel pain like no other and in a sick and twisted way- death upon birth would be an easier and quicker choice.
Yuta Atsuhira held the dagger within his hand, shaking as he now held his newly born in his other arm- clutching the child to his chest while his wife lost consciousness beside him from the trauma and stress. The man trembled greatly as he pointed the tip of the blade to the baby's head, ready for a quick and easy insertion of the blade.
But the longer he stared at his newly born's peaceful face, his resolve began disintegrating at a faster rate. The child just seemed so at peace to him, not a hair on her head out of place. So with a sigh, the man dropped the blade.
"I can't do it." The man mumbled in shame, closing his eyes in exhaustion as he held his child closer to his own beating heart.Whisperes and gasps rippled around the room from multiple advisors and doctor's that all had prepared to see that baby die within the next few minutes.
"You must! She will live a miserable life, your grace!" A random advisor said, looking at him Emperor with an incredulous look. Nobody imagined that the man wouldn't have been able to go through with the deed- it was for the best of the child, after all.Yuta Atsuhira only sighed at the complaints circling around the room, opening his eyes to stare down at his child who now seemed to be awake and staring right back at him silently. To Yuta, her eyes looked curious. A curiousity that he was sure would grow if she were to live as long as her heart willed to.
"How long will she live?" The emperor asked, ignoring every advisor in his presence and now giving his full attention to his most trusted doctor.
"Maybe just under 10 years with the proper medicinal care and treatment." The doctor replied with a confident nod which made Yuta turn to gaze at his daughter with a soft smile."Then she shall live." The man whispered. Though it was a whisper, it echoed amongst the room as if it were a yell. These weren't just mere words, they were decrees- orders from the Emperor that are not to be questioned nor argued with.
"We shall keep her as healthy as can be...and maybe these next ten years can be filled only with joy and happiness." He said. Those were his final words, his last judgment on the matter. Who knew that they would nothing but empty words and false hopes? The Emperor and Empress both actually gave their child as much as they could for the first 3 years of her existence but once the empress had given birth again- this time to a healthy child- (Y/n) stopped being such a heavy concern and priority.
The couple were finally able to show a child the true capabilities and benefits of being a royal, something they could never teach (Y/n) as they assumed that she wouldn't be alive long enough to need any of this. But they of course still loved (Y/n), she was their first daughter after all. But they were meerly had more means of connection with their new daughter Miyuki- with things that they could teach and things they could give that would technically only kill (Y/n) quicker if she were to take part.
That was their reasoning with everything- even when it was seen that (Y/n) lived longer than 10 years, growing into a lovely young lady. They held (Y/n) back from almost everything that one could consider to be fun or entertainment, all for the petty reasoning that her life was being prolonged because of her missing out on such things.
And maybe they were right, maybe she lived to twice the age she was predicted because her life was so boring and miserable.
But little did the couple know that in only 18 years this pitiful way of life that they have forced over their daughter would quickly be torn apart and burned by a man none other than Ryomen Sukuna.(A.N ~ Whatchya think? Comment & vote! ♡)
