I'm Mrs. Perfect.
Did I say that already?
After spending the whole day Saturday with Diallo, my boyfriend, I made it to my room with a big smile on my face. I had not told my roomies what I was up to, and I felt some kind of way telling them about it now. They went to the game, and probably after to get something to eat.
They were not in the room. That was fine. I needed time to process everything.
I had a boyfriend. What does that mean?
I Facetimed Chantel and JuJu, I had to let them be the first to know.
"What's up college girl!" Chantel yelled out.
"I'm still waiting on my invite," JuJu said.
When I was home last weekend, I barely got to see them. They live down the street from my mother, and I spent maybe two hours with them and that was not enough. The next time I was home, I had to at least spend a whole day with them. Even better, they needed to roll up here, but neither had a car.
"The invite is open. Maybe I can get my step mum to pick you up and drive you up here. Soon."
"Aw, that's what's up. Angel cool as hell," Chantell said. "And tell her I need some free clothes."
Angel once took all of us on a shopping spree for my sixteenth birthday. The girls still talk about that all the time. I knew Angel was rich, but I did not realize how much until she dropped a couple of bills on me and my friends, without even batting an eye.
"So, guess what?"
"You're pregnant!" Chantell blurted out then laughed.
I gave her my evil eye. "How can I...if I don't....listen, shut up!"
"You came to my side, kissed a girl, and now you need some lessons on how to be a good lesbo," JuJu said. "You make a good femme, you're too girly to be a stud. Or a stemme, some of both. Whatever, we'll figure that out later."
I rolled my eyes at them making their jokes. I did not take offense to anything they were saying, we always cracked on each other about things.
"I did kiss a girl, but that's not what I need to tell you," I admitted to them, but I was not telling anyone else.
Chantell nearly dropped her phone. "HOLD UP! You're not going to just skrrrt past that? A girl?"
"Yasssss!" JuJu said. "I'm here for it, fo sho!"
"Now is this the same girl that was naked in your room?"
"Yes."
"Girllll, spill the tea! This is hot!"
I really did not call to tell them about Gay. This was nothing about her. I was over that little crush. Had to be, I was with her brother now.
"Gay is cool, when you guys come up here, you will meet her. Watch, you will love her."
"And do you?"
"Huh? What?" I blew out a frustrated sigh. "This is not about her. I have a boyfriend now, sheesh. He's like the hottest guy I have ever laid my eyes on."
"Oh!" Chantell said and did a little dance. "Finally getting some, huh."
I slapped my hand to my forehead. "No! You know I am not ready for sex, and having a boyfriend doesn't change that. Diallo is cool with that. He's sweet. We just spent all day just hanging out and talking."
"Oh, sounds boring," Chantell said.
"And lame," JuJu added. "Tell me more about this gay, Gay."
I giggled. "She's Diallo's sister, I don't want to talk about her like that."
