I did not get to see much of Diallo Sunday. Me and my roomies talked a lot about any and everything. I got to know more of them, and I was glad. Allura was rich and spoiled because she was an only child and her parents wanted more kids, but couldn't so they spoiled her rotten. Twyla had another brother who was ten years older and married and she was not close with him.

During Allura's gap year, her parents let her travel all alone. She went to several states around the country before she did some overseas travel in Italy, France, and Spain. To say I was just a little bit jealous was an understatement.

I wanted to tell them about my trust fund. I could travel with some of that money and still have enough for school. Angel said I could use it for school or anything else I wanted.

But I did not want to tell them, not yet anyway.

Twyla came from a wealthy background as well. Her parents were a lot older, and they did not spoil her too much, in fact, they did not spend enough time with her because they were older. They barely had the energy she said, to go to any of her activities, and she was a cheerleader, a swimmer and she played piano and had recitals.

I was glad my parents were younger and somewhat hip, but the fact that they were never married and never lived together was my issue. I might have turned out differently if they were. Then again, I'm glad my father never married my toxic mother. I told them all of that too.

We were finally close enough to tell each other everything after four weeks.

But by the time I knocked on Diallo's door, he was busy doing RA work he tried to explain to me. Some meetings or something, so I went back to hang with my roomies. We talked the night away.

First class on Monday, who do I see? King.

Oh gee, what would I say to him?

"Hey fresh, what you been up to," he said when I sat next to him. I did not want to be rude and sit somewhere else simply because I had a boyfriend now.

"Nothing much," I say, sipping on a caramel macchiato that Diallo brought me before I headed off to class. He said I needed to switch things up, and I was not mad at his selection.

"Wanta hang out after class? We can hit up the CU, and go to the arcade room."

Could I hang with another guy while I had a boyfriend now? Maybe. If that guy had not already admitted to me he liked me and wanted me to be his girlfriend. This was tough.

"King, I need to tell you something."

"Shoot."

"I uh...umm...see, what happened was..."

He chuckled at me. "Girl, why are you stressing? You can tell me anything."

"Ummm," I scratched my head. "See, there's this guy...on my floor. Well, actually, he's the RA and he has been really nice to me and then we hung out and I found out he likes me and I liked him and so I...he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes." I said it quickly and then took a long gulp of my drink.

King did not say anything to any of my fast-talking babble. I cringed thinking he would hate me now, get up and walk away from me, and never want to see me again.

"It's Diallo Azzouzi, right?"

"Yeah."

"I mean, I could tell y'all was vibing," he said. "I just hoped I had a chance."

"So you're not mad at me. I know you wanted us to be more, but I-"

"No, it's cool, Fresh. He swooped up a good thing, I'm not mad."
