Forever and Always

Chapter 9

I woke up to Y/n still in my arms. Her hands were resting in my hair and her head was laying on my shoulder. I smiled at the sight before me and wrapped my arms around Y/n's waist. She stirred slightly before smiling in her sleep and nestling her head into my neck. How can someone so beautiful and happy on the outside be so broken and hurt on the inside?

I reached for my phone and looked at the time.

2:46 am

I sat my phone back down and got comfortable again before closing my eyes and falling back to sleep, one of my arms snaked around Y/n's waist with my hand resting on her back and the other stretched across her shoulders with my hand resting on the back of her head.

I felt the bed move beside me and I let out a quiet groan before letting my eyes flutter open.

"Y/n?" I asked, turning to her.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you. I needed to go to the bathroom." She responded quietly.

"It's fine."

I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. The sun blinded me and I winced slightly. Ever since I got my powers, the mornings are really tough. My senses are always all jacked up and small noises and lights give me a severe migraine. I placed my hand over my eyes and blocked out the light.

"Are you okay?" Y/n asked as she snuggled back underneath the blankets.

"Yeah. I just need to wake up a bit. I'm going to go take a shower." I replied.

She nodded and laid her head back down on the pillows.

I got up and grabbed my clothes for the day before heading out of my room and into the bathroom. I turned on the shower and let the water warm up before undressing and stepping in. I let the warm water run down my body as I rubbed my eyes and tried to focus my vision a bit.

After a few minutes, my headache was getting a little better and I could actually open my eyes without the light completely blinding me. I soaked my hair and lathered it with soap before rinsing it out and washing off the rest of my body.

I turned off the water and stepped out, wrapping a towel around my lower half as I fluffed my hair up with another. I dried my hair as best I could with the towel and pulled on a pair of jeans along with one of my science graphic tees. I threw my towels into the hamper and walked out of the bathroom and back into my room.

I slipped on a pair of socks before looking over to Y/n. She was sitting up on my bed with her legs dangling off the side.

"You think you're okay to walk?" I asked her.

"I think so, why?"

"Wanna go to the park or something? We could got to the mall also. I know you're bored here and you're probably getting sick of wearing my clothes. We could ask Ned and MJ to come along to if you want."

"Yes!" She exclaimed.

I smiled and pulled on a pair of tennis shoes before throwing on a dark green jacket which had a gray hood. May knocked on the door before walking into the room.

"Morning, May." I greeted.

"Goodmorning, Peter, Y/n. Where are you going?" She asked.

"We were gonna go hang out with Ned and MJ for a bit." I responded.

She nodded and looked over to Y/n who kept having to pull up my sweatpants she was wearing since they kept sliding down a bit.

"Y/n, come with me. You can wear something of mine for the time being." May smiled.

Y/n returned the expression and followed May out of the room, coming back in a few minutes later. She was wearing a navy blue tank top and a pair of black jeans with combat boots and a crimson colored bomber jacket.

I smiled at her and followed her out of the room and to the front door. We told May bye before walking out of the apartment, going down the stairs and out of the building. We walked down the sidewalk and ended up meeting Ned and MJ at the mall.

"Hey, gu- Y/n! Oh my god! What happened?! Are you okay?" Ned yelled and ran over to Y/n and I.

"It isn't important. I'm fine." Y/n replied.

"Not important my ass. What happened?" MJ spoke up.

"Car wreck." I answered for her, seeing as though she tensed at the question and I could tell she didn't want to answer it truthfully.

"Yeah, I uhh was in the car with my parents and some drunk guy swerved into our lane. Everyone's fine; just a little banged up." Y/n said.

MJ narrowed her eyes at the both of us before nodding, not convinced. Ned, however, seemed to believe the lie completely. We walked into the mall and went into various stores, Y/n picking out clothes in certain ones before we made it to the food court.

"What do you guys want?" I asked.

We all responded with different places.

"Okay, how about we get something from each of the places we listed and just share it all?" Y/n suggested.

"I'm good with that." MJ and Ned nodded.

I agreed and we split up; Y/n and I going to the right half of the food court and Ned and MJ going to the left half.

We got the food and paid before meeting back up at a table, placing all of the bags from the various places in the center of the table as we sat down.
