Graduation Day

(Part 2 of 2)

We arrived at the school a few minutes later. There were already people walking in and sitting down. Ned, MJ, Y/n, and I broke away from May so we could go retrieve our caps and gowns. May took her seat and waited for the ceremony to start.

The four of us got on our caps and gowns and finished getting ready before heading out the door and taking our seats. Not too long after everyone sat down, the principal came up to the podium and said his speech before calling up the valedictorian, which may or may not have been me.

Leave it to the socially awkward and anxiety ridden teenager to stand up in front of the entire graduating class and make the school look good.

I let out a deep breath and stood up, making my way up to the podium to give my speech. I cleared my throat as I shook the principal's hand and stood in front of the microphone.

(For everyone's sake and because I have no idea how to write a valedictorian speech, we're just gonna skip right over that and pretend that Peter said some lame school speech about being your typical teenager)

I finished my speech and the principal shook my hand as he handed me my diploma. I smiled as I gladly took it and walked off stage, flipping my tassel to the other side of my cap as I walked.

After me, they called up a few other people then Ned, MJ, and Y/n. They all did the same as I did, shaking the principal's hand and flashing him a smile before walking away and flipping their tassels to the otherside of their caps.

Well, everyone did that except for Y/n and MJ. Instead, they walked up together, grabbed their diplomas, shook the principal's hand, walked half way across the stage before flipping their tassels to the other side of their caps and then they turned to the crowd in front of them. They looked at each other and shared a mischievous grin before looking back to the audience and sticking their free hands up, flipping them off as they finished walking off the stage.

The student body loved it, as well as about half of the adults watching. They laughed and cheered. However, there was the older couples who whispered amongst themselves and the principal who was rolling his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose while sighing deeply.

We took our seats once more as everyone else was called up and the principal finished off the ceremony with yet another speech. Then it came time to toss our caps in the air.

"I present to you, this year's graduating class!" He announced.

We cheered and threw our caps up into the air above our heads. Y/n pulled me down by the collar of my shirt and pressed her lips to mine as the caps fell back down and onto the ground. I smiled into the kiss and shortly after, so did Y/n before pulling away and letting go of my collar.

"I love you." I stated with a wide grin.

"I love you too." She responded, returning the grin.

"Okay, that's enough of that lovey dovey crap. Can we leave now?" MJ muttered, clearly not too fond of the whole graduation process and how many people were there.

"Yeah." I responded.

We grabbed our caps and walked made our way through the crowd. We met up with May who was smiling widely.

"Congrats!" She exclaimed, pulling us all into a hug. "I want more pictures. Go stand over there."

We laughed and walked over to where she was pointing. We took a few more pictures before MJ and Ned's families came over to pick them up.

"We all agreed to go to Liz's party later, right?" Ned asked.

We all nodded.

Ned and MJ broke away from us before going their own separate ways with their families. May, Y/n and I walked to the front of the school and through the parking lot, going back to our cars.

"You guys coming right home or are you staying out for a bit?" May asked.

I looked to Y/n for an answer.

"We'll follow you back. We don't have too much longer until the party." She spoke.

May nodded and flashed us a smile before getting into her car and driving off. Y/n and I got into my car before following may out of the parking lot and back to the apartment. After a few minutes, we arrived and I parked the car.

We got out and made our way into the building. Koda ran up to us while barking like crazy.

"Hey, buddy!" I laughed as he jumped on my leg.

I pet his head before he moved onto pawing at Y/n's leg. She flinched when his paw collided with her thigh.

"You okay?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I just have a bruise there." She stated.

Lie.

Sudden flashbacks of my reoccurring nightmare flashed through my mind.

The cuts on her thighs.

The razor.

Is my dream seriously about to become reality? No, it can't be. Sure I thought about buying this one place for Y/n and I. Maybe it was coming true. That house looked identical to the one in my dream.

I was snapped out of my trance by Y/n punching me in the shoulder. It's pretty much the only way she gets my attention now. She either punches me really hard in the shoulder, sneaks up behind me and scares the crap out of me, or she just kisses me.

"Ow!" I yelped, rubbing my arm.

"I've been calling your name for the past five minutes. You okay?" She asked.

"Sorry. Yeah, I'm good."

"It's a little longer drive to Liz's house and the party is starting in a half hour. You ready to go?"

"Yeah. May we're leaving!" I yelled down the hall.

"Have fun!" She shouted back.

I grabbed my keys off the table and Y/n and I walked out of the apartment, going out of the building and getting into my car before driving off to Liz's house.
